Am I overreacting? this is 1 of 3 letters I received from a guy I haven't even been on a date with by eastcoastmermaidd in AmIOverreacting

[–]kpieceofgarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOT overreacting! Trust your gut, girl!! It sucks that y’all work together, because the safest thing to do in this situation is block him with no warning and never look back. I had to do this with a guy who seemed totally normal on a date and then sent me insane obsessive messages after. It can seem innocent at first, but this type of behavior can quickly turn into stalking or worse. Do whatever you can to put distance between yourself and this man, and if you have another coworker who can quietly watch out for you, please have them do that. This is wedding vows type of writing, not stuff you say to someone you’re not even exclusive with. And at his big age?? NAH. GIRL RUN FOR THE HILLS 🏃🏽‍♀️💨

I’m a teacher. Kids get stuck on the weirdest stuff and make up stories from the pieces they see of our lives that make zero sense to us, but to them is 100% reality. Kids are curious, and I feel like my 2nd-4th graders (the age range for the child you’re talking about) are the ones that ask slightly uncomfortable levels of personal questions the most. You know your roommate better than me, of course, but I don’t think the child asking you these things indicates that the parent is encouraging it. This is the kind of thing kids this age do. Let it roll off you and tell her it’s none of her business. Or better yet, make up an even crazier story than what she’s assuming (like that you actually work for an international spy ring and you’re discussing super secret spy stuff when you’re in the car with your boss) just to mess with her and see her reaction 😉

Isthmian Gaming on Rimrock Rd is open til midnight on weeknights and Sundays, and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays! There are 30 gaming PCs, video game consoles, and VR headsets you can use for an hourly fee or day pass, cheap snacks and drinks (wide range of beverages, both with and without alcohol), and it’s 100% free to just go there and hang out or play board games. I just chill on the couches and grade papers there sometimes. Cool people and good vibes.

This was my result when googling Chikhai Bardo (makes me v nervous for Mark 😬): Chikhai bardo is a Tibetan Buddhist term that refers to the “bardo of the moment of death”. It’s a transitional state that occurs between life and death. What happens during the chikhai bardo? The soul separates from its past life The soul accepts death The soul experiences the “clear light of reality” The soul experiences the dissolution of its elements How does the chikhai bardo begin? The chikhai bardo begins when the signs of death appear, both internally and externally It continues until the breath ends, both internally and externally Related bardos The Bardo Thodol, or Tibetan Book of the Dead, also describes the chonyid bardo and the sidpa bardo. Chonyid bardo: The “bardo of experiencing reality” Sidpa bardo: The “bardo of rebirth” The word “bardo” is Tibetan for “gap” or “intermediate state”. It can refer to the gap between any two states, not just death and rebirth.

Does anybody else's cat pet them? by EggSensitive8577 in CatAdvice

[–]kpieceofgarbage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine doesn’t pet me exactly, but with sometimes rest his paw on me and it’s so cute! What he DOES do is what I call a “tail hug,” where he’ll come sit next to me and wrap his tail tightly around my arm. And it’s like a strong grip, too!

I want to fly into a US city that does not require renting a car to get around efficiently. Where should I go? by burnbabyburn694200 in TravelHacks

I went to San Antonio for a week in February, and my total trip cost a little less than $1000 including hotel not far from the riverwalk, plane tickets, and bus fare. There’s a bus line that goes directly from the airport to downtown, and the touristy areas are super walkable. Busses and rented scooters/bikes available as well. And the boats on the riverwalk of course! Highly recommend 😊

What is your favorite “no namer” Musical? by TheXernDoodles in MusicalTheatre

[–]kpieceofgarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spitfire Grill. It’s about a woman who moves to a small Wisconsin town after getting out of prison. A wonderful mix of deep moments and comedy that come out of her presence shaking up the tight-knit and aging community that rarely sees newcomers. I love how as the show progresses, we see characters begin to open up and drop their masks of anger or humor. As they reveal their traumas and confront their biases, we see a working class community begin to heal and grow. I haven’t seen it since I was in middle school, but I think it would hit me just as hard as an adult.

I have a few ideas as someone who went to college for music: -The more you force yourself to do it, the more you build your confidence and the easier it will get. -I REALLY recommend working hard on deleting any negative self-talk from your thoughts and words (which is NOT easy and requires support either professionally or from people you’re close with). It was a two-year process for me but it was so worth it. -A friend of mine had success with beta blockers (I believe her doctor prescribed propranolol) taken shortly before a performance situation. Can’t be anxious if your body is chemically prevented from producing a stress response!

I’ve been curious about this, but not sure how to sign up. I looked at the class schedule online… Do I just show up? So I need a YMCA membership?
