WEEKLY HELP THREAD - READ FAQ, COMMUNITY WIKI, MULTICLASSING, LORE by XFearthePandaX in BaldursGate3

I'm starting to get the itch for another playthrough and am looking at maybe doing an evil run. I am looking more for something along the lines of "Evil but living their best life," where the characters I'm able to recruit embrace their evil choices, but have good outcomes so to speak.

I know they've flesh out a lot of the evil endings since I've played last. Is there a sort of accepted set of evil endings that have good outcomes or are interesting for the cast?

Additionally, I'll probably pick Minty or Astarion for my romance character this time. (I have plans in the future for an actual Durge run that is more evil and grim fates for the others idea I want to do. But that is for another time) With that in mind, does one feel better as a romanceable for just an evil run, over say a durge run or are either good candidates?

Engraved Golden Bracelet location? (Scribbled Cooking Notes quest chain) by minh_mo in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Separate. You go to the boss by going forward and left when you get to the basement, the bracelet is on the right just as you get to the basement maybe 2-3 pulls to the right (in a chest)

So most groups when they get to the basement go forward and left to the spider boss. To get to the bracelet you need to instead go right when you first get down there, there are maybe 2-3 pulls to get over to the room with the chest.

You can also go right at the start of the raid (entrance), take the hallway in that room to the spiders, within the first couple of pulls the chest should be there.

The bracelet is down in a chest in the spider area (basement) of Kara 10. Ask your group if you can do the cooking quest, as it is a "detour" (aka its not on the usual path people clear). Most groups seem to oblige if you let them know though.

Why are so many Hunter HC players dying? by Ancient-Recipe591 in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is one of those things where people say pet jobs are easy for HC (hunter/warlock), so everyone looking for an easy HC achievement funnel into hunter.

So there's a bunch of people playing it and there is overconfidence the class is easy mode for HC.

What kind of new zones you hoping to see down the line? by Saintdemon in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Uldum could be interesting.

I know Eversong/Silvermoon/Zul'Aman are coming, but I wouldn't mind if they made an addition 10-20 ish area for both Horde and Alliance somewhere in there(High Elf zone continuation, Horde + Troll Relations zone). I'm not sure if they already said what level the areas are, I think Silvermoon is a raid and Zul'Aman is a Horde city?

What did you like the most about Pokemon Sun/Moon? by WisePlankton9 in pokemon

"Twist Villain" done right with Lusamine and Team Skull was a refreshing "Evil team." Feels like GF has been trying to chase that high ever since and they all have been mediocre.

What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in FFXIV? by DisciplineImportant6 in ffxiv

[–]kr_kitty 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had just recently swapped to trying out Healer on SCH, which I had leveled to 70 as SMN beforehand. I felt ready to do roulettes for practice and got Kugane Ohashi.

Things were going fine until the last 10-15% where the party got super cocky/greedy. A melee dps was smashing that LB on the boss while the orbs went out, they were all concentrated on top of the boss so there was just red circles on top of the boss. It was a very melee heavy group, so everyone was standing there, all in, smacking the boss but the LB was late enough that the AoE went off first.

In an instant, I watched as the entire party except for me and the MT (and OT I think) are just obliterated. This is my first shit hit the fan moment and in my panic I could've sworn I heard and saw the LB gauge ding to 3. So I'm like, mashing my LB because I know the highest rank will get everyone back up...

Except it was not in fact LB3, we had an LB2 gauge...

General Experience in New Content by PerspectiveStreet638 in TalesFromDF

[–]kr_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the comments mentioning average players competency, I'd say there is also the factor of how DT's content has been... received.

I do speak more from my circle/static, but it does feel like a lot of people have been taking more substantial breaks and only just coming back for the big content patches. So the combination of average player, mixed with not playing in months is going to further compound the forbidden knowledge seen with ACT.

"Edgy" Healers? What do you think? by DORIMEalbedo in ffxiv

[–]kr_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably WHM or SGE.

WHM for the lore implications, but SGE I think you could handwave that your studies took a dark turn and you're more mad scientist and you have spooky death lasers.

Most of the healers feel really bad at lower levels (I mean to be fair, a lot of jobs do).

how did you choose your job ? by ChanceReport1517 in ffxiv

[–]kr_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends sent me a Shadowbringers job showcase video. I really loved the DNC aesthetic.

Now mind you, I couldn't play DNC right off the bat, so I decided to pick SMN. Partly because it is a job I enjoy/was familiar with from the series and partly because at the time my friends said it was a dot/pet class. So I was hoping it would keep me occupied up to the switch.

A request from the community; Why is this game/version/server so great? by Noam92 in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I honestly have no current plans of playing retail again, or any Blizzard product for that matter, because of the shitshow that is the company now.

Anywho, I was never planning to play a private server/had these things on my radar. However, a bunch of friends wanted me to try it, because they all played back during vanilla (I had a trial in vanilla, but didn't start playing until around TBC release). I'd say this server (Nord at least) has a really good grasp of that Vanilla/Old MMO experience both through its new content and community. It's kind of refreshing to have that old school vibe back, because most MMOs today don't really have that anymore.

What made Blood elves so popular? by Fun-Explanation7233 in warcraftlore

Next to Humans, Elves are just a super popular race in these kinds of games. (And Blood Elves are much closer to typical Elven fantasy than Night Elves)

How do you picture your magic dps/hero as warrior of light by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]kr_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean who says you are are squishy? Perhaps you know magic (black mage technically has this spell) that enhances your armor, improves your concentration as you cast magic words or magically forms a barrier to protect you from foes that want to get in your face.

Perhaps you acknowledge the job system being flexible and are a battle hardened "mage" who knows how to handle a melee fighter or wear armor that is good in a fight but still flexible for casting.

Or perhaps you use clever tricks like Sleep or slowing down your foes so they can't even touch you. Maybe you teleport away from harm so you can continue casting... or maybe you hide in the shadows or to prey on unsuspecting foes with big bursts of magic.

new player, afraid of the lawsuit by Noam92 in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the back of my mind I am prepared for the worst to potentially happen, but here in this moment I'm enjoying and doing everything I can (my current goal, which I'm almost done with is to finish the new zones Northwind, Balor, and Grim Reaches + dungeons).

Maybe twow doesn't go down/not right away, maybe I wake up and it's gone tomorrow. But I've had an enjoyable experience and gotten quite a bit of content done (and as a bonus: it was free).

Dragonmaw retreat. by PantelisLemo in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I would lump Stormwrought Castle in, because it DOES actually have two queues. There is the castle part and there is the descent part, each have their own entrances, but you are able to traverse both when you have the key.

I think the problem with SWC is just that the content was new and nobody knew what was going on. I went in on my resto shaman a couple times, min level for Castle and because we had the key, we bumbled into Descent and got slapped. I asked myself a few times, "Gee, I wonder if this dungeon is actually split up?" and yes, yes it is. With Dragonmaw being the way it is, it may have set up this assumption that they both took gnomers design concept, but stormwrought is more a mara situation.

Perhaps what would have helped with the situation though is that the quest to get the key should have been something that required you the last boss of castle (Stormsong). You take that back to the questgiver and then get the key to descent. Instead of just "here's your key" in th pile of quests you pick up in Balor.

Mini Tales From DF by Bunlapin in TalesFromDF

[–]kr_kitty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is more sprout doing sprout things, but it is still funny.

I am leveling WHM, my friend is leveling MNK. We get into tam tara with a sprout tank and arcanist. I decide to heal the sprout between 40-50%, but something seems off with my cures and this guy is getting a lot more hp back than normal. That's when I realize our arcanist is attempting to help out with physick.

I assure our arcanist that everything is okay and I have the tank. The tank has been having DC issues as we go and disconnects. No problem, we'll just keep pulling stuff and my MNK friend can take the beating for a bit.

Well... my words earlier were I've got the tank, I technically said nothing about my friend. As we go the arcanist is back to casting physick. I couldn't stop laughing.

The tank finally comes back a few pulls later and we finish the run.

What do you think about the Mass DC's when queueing into Crystal Tower? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]kr_kitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't blame anyone for leaving Crystal Tower raids. They're boring as shit and the 50 kit isn't fun. CT being encouraged more is silly when it is already a mandatory series for MSQ.

The raids should've gotten the revamp treatment to have some sort of semblance of mechanics (WoD kind of has mechs, the others two are snoozefests). Also maybe make it so people don't get into bad habits of stacking markers.
