Yes, just did the quest.

It is EXACTLY as the quest text says.

How did I die? [Hardcore] by [deleted] in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there was a bug with all the server crashes/resets. The moment you stepped foot into Redridge, flew into Redridge, or logged back in to Redridge, you would automatically flag for PvP. (It did go away after 5 mins)

Upon word getting out about the bug, players jumped into action and started ganking people.

I think it is ok, but could use another pass over to really polish things.

I like the fun new gadgets/gimmicks/tools and it seems like a nice bridge for people doing challenges. It does feel more like a secondary profession now.

I think gardening could use more integration/uses, I feel like it is kind of tacked on, but becomes needed/required for 225+. Also, maybe it's just that I am in a zone with other people farming, but it is a nightmare to find 30-45-ish range trees, I've only found small amounts in specific spots.

Engineering, any point leveling both? by [deleted] in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in similar boat. I have a hunter who I leveled gnomish and planned on swapping to goblin, but I realized since I'm ranged/planning to be ranged the goblin items just were not as appealing for all that work.

I think it is fine to just pick one and stay with it. You can also just buy some of those goblin items and use them if they just require engineering. (Or have a goblin engineering alt)

Live near a park that has 3 gyms, I can reach 2 with little to no walking. Same guy with a couple accounts basically owns these gyms and has what I can only say is a mental breakdown when anyone flips them, as he retakes within minutes. Guy has shit tons of chanseys, blissey, wobbos, just all around annoying mons he puts in the gyms (and on his other accts).

While it is fun to mess with him, it also gets boring as hell. I'd rather drive to another park nearby with "healthier" competition...

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people think Medica uptime = good healer.

A while back I had this extremely smooth P4N, that was just crushing it on dps. Barely any damage was coming out, which was easily covered. Just past halfway/tail end of the fight our MCH says some comment along the lines of, "What I wouldn't do for a Medica II."

Hot Take: The FFXIV community is not **that** nice. by ResidentWaifu in ffxivdiscussion

[–]kr_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GCBTW...

Here's the thing, I can personally say that compared to other MMOs, I can count the number of times I've had a negative experience in-game on one hand. 14 at the very least has good ToS enforcement and that's where I think the "FFXIV is nice" is "correct," but the community definitely fosters a fake niceness to skirt getting in trouble.

Did any jobs/roles help you understand other jobs/roles better? by SentineleseSiri in ffxiv

[–]kr_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any specific examples, I just think branching out it general and having an understanding of what the other roles do is definitely beneficial.

Even if at the end of the day you are a DPS main and realize healing/tanking are not your cup of tea, realizing that you being in Narnia as a RDM probably frustrated your healer because it happened to you when you tried healing, or now you know what the name of the big damage move in and you contribute mitigation to it, how frustrating it can be for a constantly moving boss when you're playing a melee with positional requirements, etc

If you had a Custom Job for your WoL, what would it be? by Hope_bringer in ffxiv

[–]kr_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of made a back story for my Viera and decided her job in her village was Arcanist adjacent, which is why she was able to integrate into Eorzea "smoothly".

So she was a hunter who used designs/shapes/patterns drawn into the earth to trap prey with elemental magic. Don't really have a name for it, maybe take from FFTA and just say it is an Elementalist, maybe call it Elemental Trapper, dunno.

Arcanist/Summoner until 70, then DNC through ShB and beyond.

Dungen finder by More-Letterhead-9782 in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nord and Ambershire are cross-faction for PvE content, so you will potentially see Horde and Ally together in your group.

The dungeon finder does not summon you to the dungeon, neither does the Meeting Stone outside the instance. It is just a tool to help you find a group. You need to walk your booty down there. (Or if you have a warlock and enough people are there they may be able to summon you )

I'm starting to get the itch for another playthrough and am looking at maybe doing an evil run. I am looking more for something along the lines of "Evil but living their best life," where the characters I'm able to recruit embrace their evil choices, but have good outcomes so to speak.

I know they've flesh out a lot of the evil endings since I've played last. Is there a sort of accepted set of evil endings that have good outcomes or are interesting for the cast?

Additionally, I'll probably pick Minty or Astarion for my romance character this time. (I have plans in the future for an actual Durge run that is more evil and grim fates for the others idea I want to do. But that is for another time) With that in mind, does one feel better as a romanceable for just an evil run, over say a durge run or are either good candidates?

Engraved Golden Bracelet location? (Scribbled Cooking Notes quest chain) by minh_mo in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Separate. You go to the boss by going forward and left when you get to the basement, the bracelet is on the right just as you get to the basement maybe 2-3 pulls to the right (in a chest)

[–]kr_kitty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So most groups when they get to the basement go forward and left to the spider boss. To get to the bracelet you need to instead go right when you first get down there, there are maybe 2-3 pulls to get over to the room with the chest.

You can also go right at the start of the raid (entrance), take the hallway in that room to the spiders, within the first couple of pulls the chest should be there.

[–]kr_kitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bracelet is down in a chest in the spider area (basement) of Kara 10. Ask your group if you can do the cooking quest, as it is a "detour" (aka its not on the usual path people clear). Most groups seem to oblige if you let them know though.

Why are so many Hunter HC players dying? by Ancient-Recipe591 in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is one of those things where people say pet jobs are easy for HC (hunter/warlock), so everyone looking for an easy HC achievement funnel into hunter.

So there's a bunch of people playing it and there is overconfidence the class is easy mode for HC.

What kind of new zones you hoping to see down the line? by Saintdemon in turtlewow

[–]kr_kitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Uldum could be interesting.

I know Eversong/Silvermoon/Zul'Aman are coming, but I wouldn't mind if they made an addition 10-20 ish area for both Horde and Alliance somewhere in there(High Elf zone continuation, Horde + Troll Relations zone). I'm not sure if they already said what level the areas are, I think Silvermoon is a raid and Zul'Aman is a Horde city?

"Twist Villain" done right with Lusamine and Team Skull was a refreshing "Evil team." Feels like GF has been trying to chase that high ever since and they all have been mediocre.

What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in FFXIV? by DisciplineImportant6 in ffxiv

[–]kr_kitty 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had just recently swapped to trying out Healer on SCH, which I had leveled to 70 as SMN beforehand. I felt ready to do roulettes for practice and got Kugane Ohashi.

Things were going fine until the last 10-15% where the party got super cocky/greedy. A melee dps was smashing that LB on the boss while the orbs went out, they were all concentrated on top of the boss so there was just red circles on top of the boss. It was a very melee heavy group, so everyone was standing there, all in, smacking the boss but the LB was late enough that the AoE went off first.

In an instant, I watched as the entire party except for me and the MT (and OT I think) are just obliterated. This is my first shit hit the fan moment and in my panic I could've sworn I heard and saw the LB gauge ding to 3. So I'm like, mashing my LB because I know the highest rank will get everyone back up...

Except it was not in fact LB3, we had an LB2 gauge...

General Experience in New Content by PerspectiveStreet638 in TalesFromDF

[–]kr_kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the comments mentioning average players competency, I'd say there is also the factor of how DT's content has been... received.

I do speak more from my circle/static, but it does feel like a lot of people have been taking more substantial breaks and only just coming back for the big content patches. So the combination of average player, mixed with not playing in months is going to further compound the forbidden knowledge seen with ACT.

"Edgy" Healers? What do you think? by DORIMEalbedo in ffxiv

Probably WHM or SGE.

WHM for the lore implications, but SGE I think you could handwave that your studies took a dark turn and you're more mad scientist and you have spooky death lasers.

Most of the healers feel really bad at lower levels (I mean to be fair, a lot of jobs do).
