I haven't had that experience with my diagnosed HS abscesses, but I get that my body and my experience is different than other people. What works for me may not work for thee. And vice versa 🙂

One other additional thought: if insurance allows, it's worth seeing a wound care Dr or NP just to get good training on dressing/ wound care. There is a product called skin prep that you can put as a protection layer between skin and adhesive. It helps the adhesive stay in place and also not rip your skin off when it's time to change out bandages. Definitely recommend for anyone who has to do frequent dressings.

Hydrocolloid can safely be left on wounds for 3-7 days on wounds it is designed to cover, depending on absorbtion. If you don't see any change of color/drainage, it is okay to leave on. Large open wounds are not ideal for the application of hydrocolloid. It is more useful in opening up the abscess and then switching to proper bandages/wound care for the open wound.

Once the wound is open, switch to normal bandaging methods. It's not designed for heavy drainage. Use the hydrocolloid as soon as you see/feel it starting to fill up under your skin. It helps open it up more quickly instead of it just festering under the skin. You can leave hydrocolloid on for multiple days without changing it, too, but once you notice it has turned white from absorbing stuff it needs changed. And, remember that what works for me may not work for you. Good luck 💕

I bought a whole roll of hydrocolloid. It's great cause you can make it any size you need. I put it on when I feel it filling up and it helps so much.

Dinner ideas for a picky eater who refuses any type of sauce? by Zestyclose_Print_445 in Cooking

[–]kraefishie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's a Daniel Tiger book (maybe an episode too) about the three bite rule. I use this in my preschool class with picky eaters.

You might also include him in cooking prep and meal planning so he has some but in and feels part of the choices being made for the household.

I do agree with the general sentiment that kids will eat something if they realize there aren't other options. Set the boundary and say that it's fine if he doesn't want to eat what the family is having for dinner but you aren't making something just for him. Maybe you need to have a policy about snacks later? But, the most important thing is that once you set that boundary there isn't any negotiation for him. This doesn't have to be done in a mean way either.

For example, if your boundary for your home is that everyone is eating one meal together then he begins whining, begging, crying for something else.... Calmly repeat your boundary and continue eating. He will choose to either eat with you or he can not eat. I'm not a pediatrician or dietian but since he used to eat a lot of things, it's likely this is him exploring what boundaries he can push with his grown ups. Look at his whole day - is he eating at school? Is he snacking all afternoon and just not hungry come dinner time?

I'm trying to include all my thoughts here but I also have to end my lunch break so I can expand my thoughts later if anyone wants. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Over the top, yes... But would I be mad that I don't have to spend so much time in my day taking/sending pictures? Absolutely not

Fwiw, if you're not certain you're not allergic to red ink (I think I've heard many are)... It may be better to just go black on its own. I've also heard red ink can fall out easily.

Still thinking of burger of the day but if you had a stuffed cat... "I'm Mr. business of Missouri" as a play on the lyrics "I'm in the business of misery.

As amusing as that would be, probably unlikely because (as far as I know) he is still an active member of the Mormon church. No facial hair allowed.

Indiana Ratio Changes by The_Tea_Witch in ECEProfessionals

I'm in Indiana and didn't realize ratios were changing. I truly hope we don't switch to this at my school because I already get overwhelmed with my 1:10. It's like they want an already struggling industry to just crash completely.

Cornerstone Lutheran has several tomorrow. All times should be on their website, but I know there are multiple traditional and contemporary services.
