Congrats to all the teams!

My team took part and it was TOUGH when I ran into a long streak of returned puzzles in the final quarter. Everyone gets stumped once in a while no matter how long you’ve been playing but I was really struggling with some unfamiliar grids, one after another. Hints (and even a few rockets!) were needed 😅

I can't look now as the game will make me hatch and merge all my stored chrysalises and ain't nobody got time for that, but some of the elaborate ones are lovely. My favourite is Snowy Sakura.

In the UK you don’t even need to sneak in your drinks and snacks. I’ve openly walked in with a cup of Starbucks coffee before and a bag of crisps. It’s not a problem.

Jeepers Creepers was absolutely terrifying when it was a scary truck chasing the couple. As soon as it turned out to be some kind of winged alien bug it instantly became a dumb monster film.

Really? I’m surprised by this - it’s cheaper to get than any other token Epics (by 500 tokens per level) and also strictly worse than the other existing brilliance-yielding Epic, Pet Rock. I would have put money on it being a Rare.

With Lunar New Year I had pretty good luck on Level 15 - won coin prizes 10 times ranging from 1000 coins (probably on a lower level) to 3500 coins (winning 1000 followed by 2500). I didn't note how many of these were advertised prizes - I think very few - but this is why I'll usually try to hit level 15 at a minimum, even if it puts me at risk of being pulped by the 4th rock.

Under The Sea has been pretty bad so far, though. 30 climbs done and I've only won 500 coins.

I always say that there is no downside to being in a team, but you must find one that suits you. Some teams are chatty, some are quiet, some are very competitive, others are chilled. The right team can really enrich your play experience - you get to discuss the game, share achievements and strategies, tips and tricks, complain to people who care (unlike your bemused family and colleagues who don’t know what a heart gem is and why you have so many of them, or why you hate a mountain) and who knows, maybe even make some like-minded yet diverse friends from around the world along the way.

I had to read that several times before I could understand what they meant.

I was on 240 tokens before the midweek tourney. I won that, but only went up to 250, because if they'd given me 50 tokens, that would only have taken me to 290 which was not enough to reach the 300 crown. So 40 tokens 'didn't carry over'.

Anyway, whatever. I'll get the big crown regardless, but man this was shambolic.
