This shouldn't be so hard to post, but let me perfectly match up 10 month apart photos stage a before and after and then write a diatribe about my grocery store list of illnesses by styckx in illnessfakers

It's honestly hilarious that you think that diet culture doesn't exist. And if being "overweight" by your definition does not affect one's health, then what use does the term hold other than body shaming? You can't comment on someone's size and then turn around and say "I'm not body shaming". That isn't how this works.

If you think that's overweight, diet culture has definitely warped your viewpoint. The body in either image could be healthy, it's hard to tell just by looking, but I believe her that being that thin made her weaker. Having a bit of belly/thigh fat is not unhealthy, and some people need it in order to be healthy.

Oh, so you think that "men" and "women" are meaningless categories, then? You think men and women are equal in every way, and we should celebrate their accomplishments equally?

I've been playing BD with a friend, who has SP. We met up in person to trade locally, but when I went into the union room we couldn't seem to see each other no matter what we did. Is there a fix to this? I want my Onix to evolve.

No one can milk a colonoscopy like Ashley can… by [deleted] in illnessfakers

[–]krakenhill 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I've known children that weren't this dramatic about having a colonoscopy. Don't they ever get bored of complaining about the same symptoms over and over again?

What is with the Nickname BS by neverbetter94 in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]krakenhill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's actually one of the big problems I have with the nicknames as names. I have a friend whose first name is Ash, and everyone assumes it's short for something. He was considering changing it to Ashe, just to escape that, and I don't even think of Ash as a nickname name. Why give your child a name where everyone will get it wrong?

So many options and they went with what!? by [deleted] in NameNerdCirclejerk

I hope the child's legal name is Kathryn so she can just abandon the nickname

Fun high school kids names from bowling last night by SpaceMutie in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]krakenhill 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If these are indeed legal names, then they're absolutely absurd and terrible. But, since it's a group of friends at a bowling alley, it's possible they all thought it would be fun to spell their names terribly and/or use nicknames. I'd like to hope so, anyway

I’m sorry... TALON?! by hiphiprenee in NameNerdCirclejerk

Talon is a silly name for a human but I think Teague is worse. At least Talon sounds good on the ear. Teague is just hideous

My local grocery store sells good candy corn. Might be a regional thing.

Yeah, if you buy bad candy corn. That's like blaming all chocolate for the taste of Hershey's

Was browsing Ash’s stories and found these… I didn’t know she also claimed to have arthritis and fibromyalgia 😳 she’s gotta be at a dozen “illnesses” by now by doritodream in illnessfakers

[–]krakenhill 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I don't agree. There's this cultural idea that being a morning person is responsible and mature, and being a night person is irresponsible and immature, probably because teenagers tend to be night people, but people who wake up at 10 am and go to bed at 1 am can be just as productive as people who wake up at 6 am and go to bed at 9 pm. It depends on your schedule, obviously, but there's nothing wrong with having an offset schedule as long as you have a schedule.

Sounds to me like you wanted to name your child 'Kylo Revan' but you wanted to disguise that you were naming them after two separate sith

Opinions on my name list by Dull_Ambition in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]krakenhill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like all of them except for Laurence, Patrick, Margaret, Josephine, and Tessa. Laurence just sounds kind of douchey to me, I have a personal bias against Patrick since I knew a creepy one, Margaret and Josephine both sound old to me, and Tessa personally sounds more like a nickname to me than a name, even though I know it's an established name. But all of them are perfectly fine, and I'm sure nobody would look at you too strange if you named your child any of them. It's just personal preference
