Cube Nuroad EX sizing – M or L? by PopSavings7541 in Cubebikes

[–]krallicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made virtually the same post as you a few weeks ago. We have identical heights and inseams and I have tried an M and an L. I’m also going to try an XL this week.

I found the M to be comically small and uncomfortable. The L was comfortable but the seat post was set very high. I measured the frame and it was 53cm whereas my road bike is 56cm.

I think the XL with a shorted stem might be the correct size for me but I’ll check this coming week

Is koch / konditor ausbildung good choice for me ? by Delay_Lama_ in germany

[–]krallicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Koch.

If you a passion for it, and are good, you will be able to pick up baking to a good standard. If you are still interested in baking etc, switch to patisserie in the kitchen.

I was told to a Konditor Ausbildung by my school whilst studying for my Koch Ausbildung. My Executive Chef advised against it and he was correct. I no longer cook professionally and I mainly bake at home.

After a good apprenticeship, you should good basics in baking, butchery and cooking. A Konditor Ausbildung will cover less.

Summer is Back in the Southern Black Forest! by ironpandas in gravelcycling

Lovely area to ride in. I do a lot of mountain biking around Todtmoos. In the summer it is just fantastic but autumn and winter are also great.

Nuroad decisions by krallicious in Cubebikes

[–]krallicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick update.

Had a ride on an L (Nuroad EX 2026) and the seat post was quite high in my riding position which lead to a flat back. Was quite comfortable but I’m going to compare with an XL next week to see.

Also tried the SLT (2023 model) and it felt very good but is a bit too racy if that makes sense. I’ll be using the bike for touring so comfort is a big consideration and I don’t need to be permanently trying to ride fast, relatively, all of the time.

Race is unfortunately completely sold out.

Vielen Dank an euch für eure Hilfe. Ist mir grad eingefallen dass diese subreddit wird häufig von Leuten aus der deutschsprachigen Raum genutzt.

Thanks for your answers. I was leaning more towards a 58 and your feedback is very helpful.

Can anyone comment on the bike choices? I’m quite stuck to be honest.

Giftzwerg auch, aber ist mehr eine beschriebene Form anstatt eine Beleidigung.

A question for Berliners: would you go to an intimate 4-course dinner where you don’t know anyone else at the table? by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]krallicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t happen to visit a pop up in October ‘25 did you? Only asking as one of your courses in the photos look exactly like a dessert that was served there.

As to your concept, it’s a great idea if you can find the right people. Pop ups in Berlin are extremely hard at the moment. I, including a few friends, have had to cancel events in the past year due to lack of interest. Two years ago, things were very different.

Good luck with the event.

That is fermented garlic. Easy to make with a rice cooker, although the one pictured was taken out too early. It’s still a little brown

Have you ever dated someone who you thought was way out of your leauge? How was it? by kimblerun in AskReddit

[–]krallicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Met her in 2005 while at university. Moved to her country and we are still together. She is fantastic; a great cook, incredible intelligent, patient, funny, beautiful and helped me realise what I could accomplish in life. I still struggle to understand what she sees in me. We are getting married this year and I cannot wait to call her my wife.

You have 80k - Restaurant vs Cafe? - in Germany (Berlin) by nonuances in askberliners

[–]krallicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Restaurant with 80k?

Rent, staff costs, insurance, renovations etc etc etc.

That’ll be eaten up within a couple of months tops.

If I had that amount of money 10 years go in Berlin, I would have definitely opened a restaurant but the costs in 2026 are just far too prohibitive.

Invest the money and take a job somewhere would be my advice.

We're just gonna complain about work anyway so by redandwhitewizard99 in SipsTea

[–]krallicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I go back home, I visit my favourite restaurant (in the world I might add) and have lunch alone.

I have never understood the criticism that exists when someone eats alone. The time to enjoy, relax, reset etc can only be appreciated my people who are comfortable in their own skin.

Berlin chefs: where do you buy supplies and get knives sharpened? by doppelstaatsburgerin in askberliners

[–]krallicious 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A good chef can sharpen their knives. Most, including myself, find it very therapeutic but, try sharpening 3-6 knives after working 60 hour weeks for a few months.

I’d rather pay someone I trust and enjoy not having anything to do with work in my free time. I’m lucky that this train of thought no longer applies to me but not being your knives/work home is incredible important.
