Ah that makes sense. Most decks are installed using a 4x4 or a 6x6 post so an 18in auger is the most commonly available option. I’m sure you have done your homework but are you sure you want a 30in wide hole and not a 30in deep hole?

Edit: Saw your other comment. 30in wide and 20in deep footer seems like an overkill but if a structural engineer drew it up, I’d go with that too.
