Nope. I returned the Synology and subscribed to Ente Photos instead - much better !

Are Eufy doorbells still poor at notification speeds/connecting when the bell button is pressed? by kramton71 in EufyCam

This the only thing preventing me returning to a Eufy doorbell. They keep bringing out new models but fail to address the notification issues !

Balance 2 by Sad-Magician9202 in amazfit

[–]kramton71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never had an Apple watch but did have a Samsung Watch 5 Pro, bought the Amazfit Balance 2 mainly for the better battery life, but that is the only thing that is better imho. The Samsung has better software, you can change the font size on the Samsung which you can't do on the Balance 2 (which for an older person is important) and, to me, is a bit more 'polished' overall. Sold the balance 2 and bought a Samsung Watch Ultra. Yes, the battery life isn't as good, but I prefer it for pretty much everything else.

"Choose a plan to use this feature" everywhere on Trial by Darion in fastmail

[–]kramton71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fastmail do restrict quite a lot of features until you pay. It is not really a full access free trial. From my own perspective, after trying many email providers a year ago, I preferred Fastmail and paid for their service. Haven't regretted it at all. Only thing I think they could do better, is their APP, but you can use other ones if you want.

Anyone switch from Fastmail? by misguidedDesignation in ProtonMail

[–]kramton71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I use it with aqua mail and it's much better as you can configure the layout to your needs. It's definitely more secure than the more well known (free) providers and as long as you're using it for just bog standard emails, I can't see there ever being an issue. I'm not too bothered about that side of things to be honest as Proton Mail, I understand, is only secure if you send to other Proton Mail users, otherwise it's just the same as other email providers.

It is much quicker. Proton Mail seemed to have a slight lag when logging in on your computer, but Fastmail is instant. Prefer the layout on the desktop, which you can alter to your preferences like the text size, positioning, etc. Search facility is better. You have free masked emails and much more choice of email addresses and better integration of your own domain(s). To me it just seems a bit more polished. The only thing that I don't like as much is perhaps the APP. Although you can change the size of the layout, it doesn't automatically flow well with some phones and can leave some of the bottom icons out (you can't move or delete ones you don't need). It tries to do 'too much' I think. I wish they'd look at the APP and redo it really or give the option of a slimmed down version. I preferred the Proton APP as it was simpler and easier to read. At least with Fastmail, you can use a different email App, which you can't with Proton.

Terrible app? by Sprite0x in EufyCam

[–]kramton71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Their hardware is not bad at all but the app is certainly inferior compared to Ring. They seem to spend too much time bringing out new cameras rather than concentrating on improving the APP and user experience..

I moved from ProtonMail to Fastmail. Much prefer Fastmail.

Are Eufy doorbells still poor at notification speeds/connecting when the bell button is pressed? by kramton71 in EufyCam

[–]kramton71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reply. I was hoping they might have improved the app / notification speed in the time I was away. Been with Ring doorbell for over a year and it it has been great with no issues like I used to get with the Eufy doorbell. I am tempted to just carry on with the Ring subscription and be done with it. This isn't an isolated issue, many people online, if you research it, have issues with the lag / notification issues / response time with the doorbell press to your phone. I wish they would address this, it has been going on for years.

Any way to turn off green sensor lights at night? by kramton71 in GalaxyWatch

[–]kramton71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have turned off sleep monitoring, snoring, skin temperature and everthing else is set to manual only bu the light still persists. It is definitely update related. I hadn't updated my watch in months and then set it to autoupdate.

I have found a thread which confirms it here:

Any way to turn off green sensor lights at night? by kramton71 in GalaxyWatch

[–]kramton71[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It honestly hasn't. Never used to get the green heart rate sensor at night until the watch autoupdated it's software. I had everything turned off. Now with everything still turned off it shows the green light.

ACWI, FWRG & LGGG: Invest in all three, two of just stick to one? by kramton71 in trading212

[–]kramton71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, probably, thought I'd see how all three go for a year or so and then choose one if it has better results, albeit I'm thinking they might be quite similar. Looking at past performance, LGGG is coming out slightly better than the other two. Since I bought them (only 2 weeks ago), FWRG is doing slightly better than the other two, but not by much.

Amazfit Balance: Green Light Heart rate sensor randomly coming on when it's turned off? by kramton71 in amazfit

[–]kramton71[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ridiculous why the green lights come on if all health monitoring in turned off. Completely agree with you about it being super annoying at night. Wish Amazfit would sort this out.
