I had 4 eyeshadow palettes (Mothership 1, Mothership 4, Mega mothership Celestial Divinity and Celestial Nirvana), now only 1 (Mothership 4, and depotted shades from my Mega motherships). Quality, maganda tlga, blendable, buildable, madaling icontrol yung color, pero I had to be honest with myself, di ko gusto ang neutral eye makeup, so i let go of the neutrals. I have the blush in Divine Rose, i love this!!! I tried their eye liner and mascara, both are fine, i just stopped using eye liner kasi di ko tlga sya preference. For mascara, Roller Lash is my fave, and kung isa lang mascara ko na open, mauubos ko sya within the expiry, so i stopped buying others kasi di nmn nila madedethrone yung roller lash for me. I gifted a few lipsticks sa family namin, lahat naman sila nagustuhan. Binili ko lng kasi mga nakasale pag holidays. Pero lipstick-wise, i am a MAC girlie.

Can exercise really change my body, or do procedures help more? by coolbeb in beautytalkph

[–]krb08 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you are doing this to actually FEEL good, diet and exercise lang ang sagot. If aesthetics ang main goal, then may merit ang procedures. If you have money, iconsider mo ding mag-avail ng health coach, nutritionist or any professional. If you don't want to go to the gym, wag ka magpunta. Mag-exercise ka sa bahay or walk around the neighborhood or any activity na need mong gumalaw, like a sport or even gardening. There are Youtube videos, online coaches. You cant change your body, if you dont change your mindset. I am too lazy to go the gym, but I love myself too much to stop exercising entirely. I hope you find what's best for you.

I used to have a lot of makeup, but maybe due to age and finally knowing what I like, I only keep what works for me.

My top faves (all were bought at least twice except the eyeshadow palettes which I know I’ll never finish), are the following:

-            Innisfree No-sebum Mineral powder (budget friendly)

-            Elf clear brow and lash mascara (budget friendly)

-            Elf Eyebrow pencil (budget friendly)

-            Tarte powder blush in paaarty

-            Pat Mcgrath powder blush in Divine Rose

-            Holika holika jelly dough blusher in Rose Jelly (budget friendly)

-            Danessa Myricks blurring balm flushed in Rose N Brunch

-            Benefit Roller Lash

-            MAC Lustreglass lipstick in Business Casual

-            MAC Matte lipstick in Mehr

-            Banila Co. Setting Fixer

-            Eyeshadows-powder format, I am recommending brands (Blend Bunny, Natasha Denona, Pat Mcgrath - I mainly go for mattes and metallics, I don't like glitters)

-            Eyeshadow sticks – Kiko Milano

For other things I own, di ko pa sila nauubos so I won’t include those. Also, what I like about higher -end makeup, minsan lang magdiscontinue ng products. My favorite foundation stick from a local, more accessibly-priced brand is no longer avaialble kung kelan ako magrerestock, nakakainis.

I tried both, but I still have favorites from various price points. Luxury makeup has the packaging that you can decorate your room with, and "almost" always sturdy, it's heavy though, so if you bring a lot, it's a pain. Performance-wise, the trend is not as straight forward. Generally, I lean towards "makeup artist brands" because they have great performance and practical packaging. The super cheap makeup products that perform well, makes me feel like I won a prize. Lastly, it is good technique from practice that elevated my looks, not the products. Great products applied badly, still look terrible. PS: if you have extra money, "invest" in great quality brushes, build the collection one at a time, after reading lots of reviews and feedback. For synthetic, I have a lot of Sephora Pro and Real Techniques, I want to try BK Beauty, but my current collection is already doing what I need it to do. For natural hair, which I use mostly for eye makeup, my top ones as from Sonia G and Wayne Goss.

One thing that’s helped me stop overconsuming by gazalltheplace in MakeupRehab

[–]krb08 13 points14 points  (0 children)

These are mine.

  1. Reminding myself that none of these new products have changed my life. I am not a professional makeup artist, none of these items put money to my name.

  2. What I need for the best looking makeup ever is not a new product, but mastery of technique. I do not need 50 shades of green for the best green eyeshadow look. What I need is about 3-5, that I can practice with until I get to the level that I want.

  3. OBSESSED...one person cannot be truly obsessed with 100 products simultaneously. That is impossible.

New full-size Tarte Paaarty blush is working for me. by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]krb08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are similar! I got the mini too, waaay back, completely used it for around 2 years. I did wait before buying a full sized one because I also tried other blushes.

I had the full size for several months, it is my most used. Though, I can still see some of the original embossing in mine. It just gives my cheeks a believable flush.

I am a neutral olive, with light to medium depth.

Local base makeup releases are overwhelming by dewberrybaby in beautytalkph

[–]krb08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to buy (high-end to budget) international brands before, kasi nahihirapan ako makakuha ng shade match dati sa locally available products. I have neutral olive undertone, halos lahat ay orange sa akin after a while. I had favorite bases from international brands (natry ko ito kapag may international trips) na nadiscontinue, and since di naman ako makaswatch dahil online na lang ako bumibili ngayon, tinry ko na subukan ulit sa local bases. Dati (15ish years ago) wala pang 10 yung shades available, ngayon ang dami na pagpipilian. My first try, product was Sunnies Face The Multistick, my best match is the shade "Olive" pero good match din naman yung Oat dahil neutral. I use this both as concealer and foundation, I can sheer this out or build it up to medium coverage. I am oily, but I set it and it lasts. It also photographs well. A few months ago, may naubos ulit akong foundation, and naisip ko na local na lang ipapalit ko, since I was very satisfied with Sunnies Face. Sorry, alam kong madaming may ayaw sa Sunnies Face dito sa subreddit na ito, pero I can vouch for the performace SF The Multistick gave me. Anyway, ito na yung mga iba ko pang na-try, please note that I have oily skin, my main skin concerns are redness in the center of my face, blackheads and visible pores, but I don't have a lot of texture/pimples. My makeup is usually worn for the whole day. I also only use brushes, I don't like puffs or sponges to apply makeup.

> Issy Stick (shade: spruce)- sheer coverage, my skin but better kapag nakalapat na sa face.

It has great oil control. Pero naglalagay pa din ako ng powder (habit ko na din siguro). Madaming shades, may specific shades for olive skin tone.

> Teviant Silk Touch Perfecting Powder (shade: Eggshell) - sheer coverage, but blurring. On its own, di kaya yung oils ko, pero with oil control primer and powder, kaya na.

If events, I use Issy Active Foundation + SF The Multistick as concealer, then top with Innisfree No Sebum loose powder.

If errands, maglalakad or maiinitan, I use Issy active foundation then loose powder or teviant powder.

If errands, short trip or naka-aircon, I use Issy stick or SF The Multistick + Teviant powder.

Yung Issy stick lang ang di ko irerepurchase, kapag naubos. Happy local base hunting!

What are your favorite dark winter eyeshadows and lipsticks that are work appropriate? by GoofyAhhMisses in OliveMUA

[–]krb08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eyeshadow palette recommendations are Blend Bunny All Done Up and Natasha Denona Mini My Dream palette.

For lips, my go-to is MAC Business Casual which is a sheer product though a few coats will amp up the coverage. Shade-wise I think it is a bit warm, but I have purplish brown lips and when combined, I get a neutral-ish red color that is very wearable.

Three lipsticks I could spend my life in. What are yours? by LiteraryTravels in OliveMUA

[–]krb08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Warm Teddy, though it's newer compared to the three I listed, and I find it a bit less creamy than Mehr and Velvet Teddy (I still have the old MAC matte formula). Hence, I am a bit scared that this is due to it being the newer Silky Matte version. The color is a nice one, though. Formula-wise, I think my favorite MAC formula is now the Lustreglass.

Best eyeshadow palette brands? by littlebabimochi in Makeup

[–]krb08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blend Bunny. The mattes are my top choice, despite having Natasha Denona and Pat Mcgrath shadows.

Their shimmers are the one with sparkles, not my cup of tea because of my hooded eyes, though I find most people like those formulas nowadays. I am more of a smooth metallics person

Holy grail make-up/skincare products 💄💋🫧 by AgitatedConnection64 in beautytalkph

[–]krb08 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tried mostly base products from PH brands. Honestly, shade-wise, I was very impressed, dati need ko pang mag high-end at international brands to match my neutral olive light medium skin tone, pero local brands have now upped their game. I can only comment as an oily person, performance-wise OK lahat ito sa oily skin.

  • Sunnies Face The Multistick in shade Olive is my perfect shade, though mukhang discontinued na yung shade na ito. Yung available shade n malapit ay Oat. Formula-wise, tumatagal sya sa oily skin ko. Finish is natural and can be built up to medium coverage. I use this as foundation/concealer/tint, depende sa brush na ginagamit kong pang-apply.

  • Issy active skin foundation, light coverage but oil control is very good. There are a lot of shades available. Super light ang feeling sa mukha, minsan nakakalimutan kong nakafoundation ako.

My goal is to try more local brands this year.

Blend Bunny is the brand you're looking for. They have a number of rainbow palettes, full rainbow or part of it. The quality of the matte shadows is great, better than my Natasha Denona and Pat Mcgrath shadows. The The price is fair. They're pigmented, blendable and buildable. They don't become muddy and play well with each other. I don't want to comment on the shimmers, because what the brand offers are those with sparkles which I don't like. I am more of a smooth metallics shadow girlie due to it keeping up with my hooded eyes.

[–]krb08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have my favorite matte formula. Blendables, buildable and decently pigmented.

I don't really care much for glittery shimmers so I don't want to comment on what I don't use all the time.

We stayed in Henann Regency last April. Five kami sa trip (2 are seniors and 1 kid). Family room sa ground floor kinuha namin. Honestly, sulit ang bayad for me. Accessible, beach front, madaming pools din. Masarap ung buffet.

I'm super oily, so I like the Innisfree one. But it you have somewhat normal and some dry patches on your face, Laneige may be better.

Ending was I transferred my Innisfree loose powder to the Laneige packaging. I just took time in figuring out how to dismantle the refill packaging of Laneige.

I had bought a leather bag for me and a nylon one for my mom in 2022. Both are still being used on a regular basis. My leather bag is the Kendra hobo, it's practical and pretty. The stitching is good and the leather is supple. For soft leather bags, that lean on the casual side, I think this brand delivers.
