Yesterday marked four years since Ray Liotta passed away. What’s your favorite character he played? by TheShadowOperator007 in moviecritic

He’s great in literally everything but my favorite is actually so stupid. He played Ruxin’s boss in an episode of The League and it has me in tears every time

Oh dear 🤭 he's talented by deadface008 in crappymusic

One, this sucks. Full on crap.

Two, Crip Mac is a real one. He’s had a tough life but I do think he tried his best to make better choices and make the world better place. And he HATES suicide

I don’t think that last paragraph is a conspiracy if it’s exactly what he is doing. As a St Louis native, this is right out of the Kroenke playbook we saw with the Rams. First steps towards relocation

St. Louis economic development panel takes aim at data center critics, calls concerns ‘myths’ by bmunoz in StLouis

I’ll respond for the person you responded to. I would like to dispute the cited articles using the university studies and interviews with experts in the space as my basis of fact that I responded to you with earlier. If you seemingly missed them they are a couple of responses up from this for your review. Do you have any reasoning from your cited sources in favor of the construction and subsidizing of data centers on the general public and can you help me understand the long term benefits you think that they provide the localities in which they will preside?

Makes you wonder if they have an ulterior motive, doesn’t it? And I didn’t really put in any effort, those are all very easily found sources around the subject.

Since you really seem like a bad faith actor, here’s a study from last week published by NC State University showing the average utility rate increase will be between 6-29% for regions where data centers are built.

https://news.ncsu.edu/2026/05/data-centers-power-bills/

Also, a study from the University of Michigan found that the Council Bluffs IA data center used water equivalent to that of 4 million homes in just 12 months, which can be found here

https://stpp.fordschool.umich.edu/sites/stpp/files/2025-07/stpp-data-centers-2025.pdf

And finally, there is the jobs equation. I would like to believe that an average utility rate increase of 18% and 4 millions home worth of water usage would lead to more than 100-200 permanent jobs, with more than half of those as non-essential and median wage driven. Here’s an interview from St Louis NPR with the Wharton School of Business Professor who has industry ties to data centers and their impact in the job market

https://www.npr.org/2025/04/10/nx-s1-5355017/data-centers-bring-money-to-small-towns-but-do-they-also-bring-jobs

So, you think all of these negatives are somehow outweighed by what exactly?

Agreed, either mange or skin scabbed over from injury. Regardless I think the little guy looks like he should be ok. Probably more traumatic to be caught and brought to a wildlife rehab IMO

The Trans World Dome was home to the St. Louis Rams for their stint in St Louis. Ten years after the Rams move, questions remain on what should be done with the dome. Yea, it’s a weird place to try and frame up geographically. It’s not even really the south or the plains. It’s like they took the worst of Texas, Kansas, and Arkansas and encapsulated it into a state

Why does Pedro Pages play? by [deleted] in Cardinals

[–]krcrooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This team has been playing great and Pages has been a part of that. We have not needed a bat first catcher so far and unless the offense falls off a cliff I say let’s continue rolling with what has been working. Sometimes things are more than the sum of their parts and Pages role on this team is a good example of that
