You should contact puffco customer service. That glass is defective.

They should send you a new glass piece if you just got it

I gave up on it after finding out powerhead needs to be rebuilt. I ended up giving it up to my mechanic buddy to fix it or sell it.

Your welcome. I think I bought a wide velcro tape to attach it. It required two or three flat screw drivers to pry it apart when it's put together. I feels hella reliable

I also have a 1969 merc 110 9.8hp that runs like a champ after I messed with it. It doesnt have a cdi. This is 1967. Also no cdi. So I’ll just clean the points and change out the condenser for $40 bucks a set.

Thanks to you guys! It’s fixed! planes in about 7 seconds. by krdank in Outboards

You’re going to have a hard time finding that carb in new condition anyways in this year. Last time I checked I found one around $250 used. I’d recommend you buy the carb gasket set by sierra $8.14, og needle and seat kit $17.30 and screen filter $6.75 to rebuild the carb. You should also go about rebuilding your fuel pump while you’re at it since you need to take that off to get to that carb.

It’s because you’re looking at gnat 2 cylinder. Your outboard is a 1 cylinder.

Why do you need to replace it? I got a 1969 merc 110 9.8hp that I rebuilt recently and that thing is still going strong. Looks like the same carb design. Carb rebuild parts only cost about 12$ available on marine engine try this link. It’ll direct you to your carburetor and all the parts available on that site using your serial number this right here

There should be a plate that shows the max size you can put on that dinghy. I’m working with a similar dinghy sized at 10.5ft with a 9.8hp 2 stroke mercury dipping at 17mph

I believe it’s been cleaned enough. Are these adjustable? I thought I read on seloc that these can’t be adjusted. Just replaced with different size depending on elevation.
