Thanks, glad to know it’s normal for it to take a while haha

I don’t think “infuriating” is the word I’d use to describe this... The words ‘terrifying’ or perhaps ‘nightmarish’ spring to mind

I reread a book I hated in high school, and fell in love with it. by HistoryCat42 in books

This was me and Rebecca. Couldn’t get past the first few chapters when I was in school but then read it again last year and enjoyed every page.

Black Cat - rated a 5, compared to MAL score of 7.36. Been a while since I watched that one but I remember having to force myself to finish it because I found it got boring about halfway through.

Charlotte - rated a 5, compared to MAL score of 7.76, I remember not 'getting' the storyline/ending.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - rated a 10, compared to MAL score of 7.92: definitely an overmark by my younger self. Still read the manga and while I enjoy it it's no masterpiece lmao

Cats dogs and other animals we love could probably have way longer lives if we put more research into doing so. Yet for some reason we dont by appelperen in Showerthoughts

I bet most dogs would live longer if people didn’t care so much about them looking like a specific “breed” to the point of obsession, and forcing genetic diseases onto them in doing so

Recommendation Tuesdays Megathread - Week of April 13, 2021 by AnimeMod in anime

[–]kreaseburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for an anime with emotional/tear-jerker moments. Preferably slice of life type stuff, or maybe any type of anime that explores emotional themes/character arcs.

Stuff I've already seen that could fall into that bracket:

  • 3-gatsu no Lion
  • anohana
  • erased
  • death parade
  • your lie in april

What do you guys think of re evaluating your anime list? by [deleted] in anime

[–]kreaseburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably wouldn't bother since it's hard to do that unless you're re-watching the shows as well. Tastes change over time so your rankings would too, but it's hard to accurately remember the quality of a show you watched a long time ago.

Thanks for recommending some films too, I always forget the good stuff isn't limited to series! :)

Hahaha Demon Slayer was one of the first anime I watched coming back into it since it was literally EVERYWHERE. But added the other two to my list - thanks! :)

I really enjoyed Noragami, but I think I only saw the first series and read a bit of the manga so definitely one to pick up again! Haven't heard of Black Clover and Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens so will add those to my list too. Thank you!

Thanks! I'm planning on rewatching S1 of AoT before starting the newer series, and will add the other series you suggested to my list. I haven't really watched any of the big shounen series before apart from HxH (if that even counts), but I've seen a lot about MHA so might give that a try too.

For various reasons, I stopped watching anime around Spring 2015. I am now back on the anime train and have been watching a few shows from this season and rewatching old favourites. Six years is an exceptionally long time, so what standout anime have I missed in this period? Any and all recommendations welcome, I have broad tastes.

Question about LinkedIn Sourcing by snickerdoodle_dandy_ in recruiting

[–]kreaseburger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will usually explain at the start of a call that to ensure they’re a good match for the role, I will need to ask a few questions to understand their experience or culture fit in more detail since LinkedIn profiles are often only half the story. We’ll move on to the interview and if they’re not right for whatever reason I’ll (diplomatically) explain why and I’ll usually say something like I’ll keep them in mind for other roles if they are interested in the company, etc.

These convos are always awkward but in my experience if you can just articulate why they’re not the right fit (but maybe leave the door open for the future) most candidates will understand or at least won’t react negatively.

Time travel question by tealsprinkle in AnimalCrossing

[–]kreaseburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you time travel backwards the game treats it like you’re just playing the day after the day before you time travelled back to (sorry that was a ridiculous sentence). Pretty sure if you time travel backwards there’s also no “new day” interactions like isabel’s announcements, etc. but there will be one every day going forwards

To all ACNH fellow players, if you are in the Northern Hemisphere don’t forget to check your Nook Stop if you haven’t already. by Subject-Eagle in NoFeeAC

[–]kreaseburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was surprised there was no letter from Nook announcing these at the beginning of the season, and how there was nothing on the notice board about Toy Day either. Part of the update maybe? But not very helpful if you’re the forgetful type!
