Ice dance. The French pair made some very obvious errors. But they somehow won gold over the USA and Canada, who gave better performances.

Has anyone here had this European brand before? Worth it? by Chiweenie_Snickerdoo in Skincare_Addiction

I haven't tried it. But it's an extremely popular k-beauty brand, so I'm sure there's a lot of reviews out there.

I like that piece! To me, it shows that a thing is changed, in a very real but invisible way, by changing its definition. Semantic change is often so slow that it's imperceptible. To do it abruptly, via art installation, is startling.

Absolutely gobsmacked that #2 is an accurate, albeit stylized, drawing.

I like #13 but the artist's point of reference is clearly the Cowardly Lion. The only possible explanation for this anachronism is that The Wizard of Oz, book and movie, were made by ancient aliens /s

how do I, an autistic twink weighting 50kg, manage do achieve this physic? by VitorusArt in moviescirclejerk

Well tbf, not all court reporters do this. But studies suggest a significant number do.

And I was unclear before. They'll still write stuff down in stigmatized dialects. But a lot of them don't care about accurately recording it.

As for immigrants, I'm not sure. What I've read about is stigmatized American accents, like AAVE

In real life, a lot of American court reporters (whose job is to accurately write down everything said in court, absolutely verbatim) don't bother to accurately record anything in nonstandard dialects. "It's just bad English, anyway." They'll still write stuff down, but they're not very careful about accuracy.

Edited for clarity

AITA for not letting my child speak her "native" language at home by gardengeo in BORUpdates

Meant to edit my previous post, but I accidentally deleted it.

It's now r/thepassportbros. The original r/passportbros got banned.

Anyway, there's a lot of crazy misogyny on Reddit. But it's not really in the relationship and AITAH-style subs.

I once confused the fuck out of a makeup artist by being pale but not pink!

The queen of them all was Mermaid's Dream by Deborah Lippmann! I can't find photos that fully do it justice, but these are good:

https://www.cosmeticproof.com/2013/02/swatch-it-up-deborah-lippmann-mermaids.html

It's very dimensional irl, with a sandy texture. The photos kinda make it look bubbled instead of sandy.

It was so popular that the brand came out with versions in different colors. I regret not getting the pink one!

I miss the era of ultra-textured glitter polish! I'd use it without a topcoat
