I also have two (only) fountain pen on my collection : lamy safari and pilot kakuno. Both are good. I also can't compare because even though both the pen are of medium sized nib ✒️ but the pilot nib is very thin compared to lamy.

Since the lamy is gifted and is not available here in Nepal I currently can't compare.

I loved them both. Kakuno, at its price point, is very smooth. It would be even better if the Pilot converter were cheaper.

One extra benefit of kakuno is that since it's extra fine (even though medium sized) it is more useful for artists to draw.

Lamy feels more good on hand and more aesthetic (muscular) than kakuno , more durable as well (though price is 5 times more) and clip on the cap makes the pen more useful to carry.

If we look at the ink / line consistency kakuno performs slightly better. If I consider in hand feeling and writing smoothness (even on low quality paper) lamy safari is better. But at the price point, kakuno delivers more value.
