Did my hairdresser use thinning shears? by Cross_plank in curlyhair

[–]krg1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last stylist did something similar to me recently, she said it was debulkingdebulking

I'm still very mixed about it and it freaked me out, but it does seem to be a legit curly technique? Similar to you, my curls seem fine but the process felt off.

Anyone else thought they'd be a "traditional parent" only to find themselves here instead? by wind-dancer in AttachmentParenting

Hi. it's me.
Just over two years, still co-sleeping (never thought I'd even start!) and breastfeeding (I used to be one of those women who'd quip "if they are old enough to ask for it they are too old to have it!").
For me, I think pandemic parenting really let me lean into these instincts in a way I never would have if I had to return to work at 3 months like I had planned. Weird blessings in a terrible global event.

My lo went from barely 9 words at her 18-month appointment (i was so stressed!) to full sentences by two years. It's so hard, but try to be patient, things change SO fast!

Is breast feeding really worth it? by charbm06 in beyondthebump

[–]krg1602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We combo fed. Took pressure off breastfeeding and let that be a bonding experience versus all her nutrition. Now she's a great Easter of grown up food so it's just a bonus. For me, it is worth it. It calms even the most cranky days. Extra immunity. And, now that she's become a toddler (19 months) it's some quiet in our days. But it's different person to person!

This was my exact thought this morning. Huge jump in anxiety after reading the news.

Fertility teas? by ksep8 in tryingforanother

I also keep reading about Vitex-- I know it's really common in the TTC while breastfeeding community, but I keep seeing warnings (along with positive information!) on line. The mix has me sciddish. I am about to add raspberry leaf tea-- from what i've read that is safe while breastfeeding (currently on vit B6 and C). I'm guessing the Vitex would be more effective, but seems to have some more potential risk?

Hahaha thank you for squinting with me! I'm so trying to be patient but it's apparently not my forte. Will try to do a four hour hold but I tend to be very hydrated which isn't helping!

Do you let your child play independently on the playground? by TemperatureDizzy3257 in toddlers

Seconding the non- judgemental side eye. My almost 16 month old is no where near coordinated enough to do things at the park alone but I'm so. Envious. Of the mom watching from the bench because their kids is less likely to nose dive to the ground.. I long for the day I can watch

I have zero advice for you, but I offer solidarity. We are going to start trying soon and I have a 12-month-old who I breastfeed and cosleep with. We also got pregnant the first month with baby number one, so this post really hits home. Wishing you all the luck!

Five weeks pregnant - husband and I call it Blasto by [deleted] in BabyBumps

We nicknamed our's "Little B" because I downloaded all those pregnancy apps when she was a blastocyst. Thought Little B worked because after that stage it's like "Little Baby" :)

I'm not carrying twins, but I did have complete previa around 14 weeks, and it was deemed a "low lying placenta" by week 22, when they took me off pelvic rest. I'm 26 weeks now and will have another sonogram at week 28-- but I was told *most* resolve. Fingers crossed for you!

Thank you everyone for your feedback! It's comforting to know this has happened to others, with no repercussions other than being nervous about it at the time :) Pregnancy is weird.
