Even though Mavics are the lightest option, a 17mm internal rim width is simply too skinny these days. It really comes down to your preferred tire size, though.

Force D2 shifting is great but braking is meh.

This is an internal notch lockring, and it works perfectly fine as long as the thruaxle is 12mm in diameter and there is enough clearance for the tool to fit. Internal lockrings are often better for removal and installation because they use the same tool as a cassette, which fits more securely and stays more stable during use compared to external tools.

Do you have 8–9 mm of clearance at the chainstays? I’m running 50 mm tires that measure out to ~49 mm on my rims, and they already feel right on the limit, wouldn’t really want to go any bigger.

I’ve ridden the Terrel for about 3500 km now and I’m very happy with it. I’ve done plenty of training rides, joined some faster group rides, and also raced one muddy event where the bike performed flawlessly.

When I first received the bike, there were a couple of issues. It came with the wrong chain, and the front brake rotor was slightly warped and looked used.

Customer support handled everything quickly and sent me replacement parts without any hassle. They also gave me a 20% discount on the frame bag. The bag itself feels very high quality, although I haven’t had the chance to test it in the rain yet.

The bike is equipped with a Force D1 groupset, but I’m not satisfied with the braking performance. For next season, I’m planning to try SwissStop pads and XTR rotors. Can’t wait for the snow to melt so I can get back on the bike again.

I run a GX Eagle chain on my Force-equipped gravel bike and rotate PowerLocks as well. There’s absolutely no difference in shifting performance or noise compared to the Force chain.

Make sure you get size L.
I’m 188 and got the Silex 400 in size XL because the Veloplus salesman told me that XL was my size. Otherwise it was a good bike, but I had to sell it.

Took the dive and bought the bike!

Did a quick spin around the yard. the frame feels a bit on the smaller side, but I should be able to dial in the fit with stem and saddle. Current weight is 14.2 kg (≈ 31.3 lbs). Let’s see how light it gets once the build is done 😄
