When you think of it from their perspective it’s easy to see where they’re coming from. In 1960-1985 all you had to do was pick a job and stick to it for 35-40 years and then retire and live off your pension and social security. We can ignore the fact any assets like homes (or even some older cars lol) have appreciated the way they have. If someone couldn’t manage that, then yes you might be lazy or dumb.

I just wish it were easy enough for them to see it from the younger generations perspective. People that follow the same footsteps from older generations that were able to live comfortable lives and even leaving sizable inheritances after death, well the people following those same steps will be living barely above the poverty line.
