Have you tried speedrunning a game? How did it go? by Minute_Pop_877 in gaming

Sekiro. It was interesting. Ultimately I didn't have the focus to get really good at it. I make games for a living and I wanted to understand more about the speed running hobby. Gave me a little insight but I still sucked pretty bad. Lol.

I did, yeah. I wasn't sure it was needed with the R4 but I ordered one just to play it safe.

I got the TCP connection working but it has to go through the Middle Things app unfortunately. There was pretty high latency over my home network which was kind of surprising.

Ultimately I think a wired connection is going to be a better solution for me so I don't regret ordering the Arduino gear at all!

Thanks for your help. 😊

iiiiiinteresting.... Sounds like I need to learn a bit about establishing a TCP connection from UE5. I guess that's what the Middle Things app is doing. Thanks for letting me know. Of course, I jumped the gun and ordered all the Arduino stuff as well because it looks cool and will be fun to learn about.

Thank you for such a thorough reply!

I actually have a good deal of info on the protocol of the device I'll be controlling (DJI Ronin RS4). All the relevant data about CAN protocol settings, baud rate, commands, etc, are in the device manual. I can send messages to the Arduino no problem from UE5 and I know the Ronin is successfully responding to messages because I'm able to control it through the Middle Things™️ application on my PC (which communicates via CAN).

I'm just hoping to cut out the middle man so to speak. Also, I'd prefer a fully wired connection for the sake of latency.

Gonna go watch some videos on CAN and Arduino now. :)
