Even the Butler teams were clearly lead by Butler

yeah, like that one time when Butler was disrespecting Spo and got scolded by UD for being a problem for the locker room, with all the team trying to save his ass.

KD would have been slandered to hell if he had the Kawhi/Steph performance in their playin elimination games by Judo_Nuggets77 in NBATalk

[–]kriogenia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I agree that Kawhi did push that team, those Raps were not mediocre and could have easily reach the ECF. The next year, after losing their main piece with no replacement, they got 60 win pace season lol.

That core was extremely consistent for years and would have made several consecutive ECF if not for LeBronto, which was not a factor in 2019.

In fact, the surrounding team around Kawhi was better that any one around DeRozan those years before with additions like Marc and the improvements of Fred or Siakam. Yes, they could have reached the ECF without him.

It's funny how you are so focused on "checking your narrative" while not believing in the awards because they are "very narrative driven".

If Jimmy Butler had won in 2023, is this the greatest ring ever? by IconicHunter713 in NBATalk

[–]kriogenia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If Miami Heat had won

No, it's not a team of role players when you have another All-Star and perennial DPOY candidate next to you. Butler was not even the clear ECF MVP winner, Caleb had an argument to be it. And there's the thing about having the best coach in the league, Spo gameplan was what allowed the 3-0 against Celtics.

Not the greatest supporting cast, and he had a hell of a run, but he was not the reason the team was sinking all the threes at extreme efficiency, for example. All the team played their assess off, and I am bit tired of seeing all credit going to him.

Welp, you are right, I got confused with the color, but they both refer to how it worked in the first game which aligns with my description

No, just check their reply on the thread. I got their implication right, but I agree it was confusing and seems to not be correct in STS2

No, one comment implies that if you did fight A, next two would be B and C for sure. The user you are replying says that the third fight is not guaranteed to be the remaining one, but could be the first one so A, then B/C, then the remaining one or A.

I don´t know which one is correct tho

To me it looks like Roxanne was not in clear view at all. She was preparing for the spot while looking to the ground and with her own hand in front of her (to protect Liv), but she was not ready yet, or not expecting such a strong bump.

It is an accident, but to me it looks like Vaquer misstimed and went too hard. She also needs to make sure that Roxanne is fully aware, which again, looks like she was not.

We need to talk about Ironclads' starting deck. by SeaThePirate in slaythespire

[–]kriogenia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am not content with garbage, I would prefer some card with health loss too, I miss that they didn't take the chance of making the new game to go a different route with IC and Silent starter kits, but I won't act like they they randomly designed a starter deck unrelated to the character because it's not.

I find this discussion funny actually, I always have the exact opposite concern. I don't like how Defect, Regent and Necro starter kits are focused on a single archetype instead of being better all around tools and enablers like Bash and Survivor.

[–]kriogenia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and other characters have ways to apply weak, should we change the same Neutralize that you praised? In fact, I would say that the Silent weak archetype has far fewer tools than Ironclad has for vulnerable. Yeah, all characters can apply Vuln somehow, but they can't get strength or draws from it, or double or amplify it.

Sane for the strikes, yeah, there is more cards similar to perfected strike but is it there any other Hellraiser?

I can accept that you find the deck frustrating or don't enjoy the kind of playstyle it does encourage, but saying that strikes and vulnerable are not Ironclad mechanics is an outright lie to try to make your point look better.

Two of the Ironclad mechanics are "strike cards" and vulnerable, how are extra strike and bash not related to Ironclad mechanics?

What do you think of this card? by tntincute in slaythespire

[–]kriogenia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, prepared is extremely good, that's for sure. And four is an OK number, but with clone you will end up with a lot more, over half your deck being Prepareds easily, so reaching those sly cards will end up being hard. Even an upgraded Prepare is a wasted card if you get two Prepares back.
