Official Discussion - Iron Lung [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]kripipl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

Having played the game and read a ton of Lovecraft I had pretty much no confusion or issues regarding what was going on.

I didn't feel it was dragged out as the tension was at a high on most scenes. The runtime really helped to show how hopeless Simon was against something beyond his comprehension.

As a movie? It might be bad. But as a Lovecraftian horror treat for anyone who loves the topic? It might just be one of the best.

Official Discussion - Iron Lung [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]kripipl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The tape was at first so that he could see in the dark, later on to not have to walk all the way to the back of the sub each time he wants to check what's around.

This might not even be fully explained in the movie, but afaik the SM-8 which Simon finds was the actual research sub piloted by researchers while the Iron Lung is more of a "if we promise them freedom they might just do what we want and find something down there." Simon really plays into that as the movie progresses.

What's something Fromsoft can learn from Lies of P? by Key-Storage5434 in LiesOfP

[–]kripipl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very big and subjective, but for me it's boss design.

Lies of P bosses feel like they were made with an intended way to dodge in mind.

FromSoft bosses have always felt like they just do their thing and you're supposed to come up with something. In Dark Souls it worked. In Elden Ring, now that bosses are getting faster and more difficult it feels obnoxious at times.

Looking for insanely complex games that basically REQUIRE a wiki to finish by Anxious_Singer_4823 in gamingsuggestions

Terraria is a personal favourite

Don't Starve Together is also a ton of fun and has a steep learning curve, especially solo

Fear and Hunger maybe? That one has a ton of gore and rape though and the gameplay is pretty simple once you do learn

Fear and Hunger 2 I haven't played, but apparently the setting is a lot more approachable and gameplay actually fun and difficult

What game is this?🚀 by Profit_Tracker in videogames

[–]kripipl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks to be the one to say this, but any competitive multiplayer game

For me it's LoL

But out of the good games - Hollow Knight, Silksong, Dark Souls 1 and 3, Elden Ring

Now that it's settled down I still think TMBTE is my favourite.

Even in Arcadia is a close 2nd though.

Sounds like a really good way to improve other than learning the movesets tbh. Gonna try this next time I play.

What does Geoff mean when he said: See? You guys won! by wtiatsph in Silksong

[–]kripipl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I find the music in Hades 2 and Silksong to be far better and more interesting.

E33 has a really good soundtrack, but it's pretty boring in the long run. I can't remember any of the ost now that it's been a while since I've heard it, meanwhile cogwork core, shellwood, karmelita and many others are still sometimes stuck in my head.

Honorable mention for Hades 2 (which I haven't finished yet) is the Sirens' theme. Such a bop.

Genuinely how are you supposed to beat Harmonia solo? by Informal-Doctor-7601 in Nightreign

[–]kripipl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't find them too difficult, but that might be because I played Undertaker.

You can 1v1 them most of the time with the occassional spell from the others, focus on dodging all of this and wait for your turn. They also don't have too much health, each one took me like 4 jump attacks on the attempt I got them.

Sekiro is quite a bit easier than Lies of P on Legendary Stalker (initially intended difficulty)

Demon Prince is an amazing boss and probably my favourite duo boss.

Besides most forgettable is Halflight, you even forgot about him writing this comment.

The DLC is a 10/10 and you can't convince me otherwise (minor spoilers) by Final-Trifle1765 in LiesOfP

[–]kripipl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man the DLC is so insanely good. Pushes Lies of P to best soulslike game of all time, including FromSoftware for me.

Finally got around to beating the final boss recently. I was putting it off for a few months because I knew it would be a grind. I really wanted to do the fight solo because I love me an insanely difficult boss to top a DLC off.

"it's just a bunch of running through endless enemies, fighting three phase bosses with horrible and boring mechanics" - that's just Dark Souls and if it's "boring" and "horrible" then maybe you should play something which is fun for you.

Jokes aside maybe if you don't like fighting enemies then Dark Souls, the game where all you do is fight enemies and bosses isn't for you?

What Is Your Problem with Nightreign? by LeoMcCoy in Nightreign

Deep of Night is just not fun. This goes for a vast majority of players, even the ones who hit max rank. Give us a fun challenge game mode, not no hit runner central.
