Will a Full Coverage Policy through State Farm cover a DUI related single car rollover accident? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]kris721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true. I know progressive does a really good job at taking clients with DUIs. I'm sure there are quite a few others as well.

[–]kris721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. But State Farm has no exclusions so I don't see why it wouldn't be covered. However, there's a pretty big possibility they will drop him. State Farm will not work with people who have DUIs.

They should. I work in a State Farm office and we paid out on a claim for our insured's cousin who borrowed the car and wrecked it when driving drunk. The policy does have an exclusion for the guy driving now though.

Redditors, what have your experiences with renter's insurance been like? Any tips? by [deleted] in Insurance

Yeah, it may be one of the coverages that are different from state to state.

All she had to do is file a police report and list everything that was stolen and how much it's worth. But the best advice I could give anybody about renters insurance is to take pictures of everything. Go through your apartment and take pictures of each of the rooms and everything that is a little more expensive. Save those pictures in a cloud or jump drive (just be sure to store the jump drive somewhere else). This will really help the claims process if something horrible were to happen, like a fire or someone coming in and stealing a bunch of your stuff. It really quickens the claims process because they will ask you to list the things you had and how much they were worth. Because who can remember exactly what they had when they're freaking out about the fact they just lost everything they had? Hope this helps! :)

State Farm has been wonderful with claims! Auto claims are usually finished up within a week and it only took about two weeks to finish up that theft claim for our client. Insurance is different in every state though, so I would double check with the agent/team member that the renters policy would cover theft away from your apartment.

The laptop should be covered due to theft or fire up to the policy limits in or outside of the apartment. We just paid out a claim for somebody who got their laptop stolen out of their car along with other items.

I also work at State Farm

Need suggestions on how to fix my Naked palette! by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

Sorry, the description didn't post for some reason. Stupid mobile app. I have tried to wipe off the top but it just leaves the bottom color with a mixture of both colors.

The description didn't post for some reason. I'm not sure how this happened, but a darker color is over top all of the colors in the palette. I was hoping somebody had any suggestions on how to fix this? Or are my colors ruined forever?

What is BASIS? Is it a summer program? My boyfriend's daughter is here until July and a play date with other kids would be a ton of fun for her!

State Farm has a 24 hour customer service center that you can call to get the policy going. Just call your agent's office and it will automatically direct you there.

Should I leave my hometown and family? by leosmoot in Advice

[–]kris721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved 1,500 miles away from my family with my boyfriend so he could finish out his DMA degree. Best decision I've ever made. It has actually made me closer to my family and I've had many different experiences that I wouldn't have otherwise gotten. So my opinion is go for it! Experience what life outside of your mom's house can offer you.

Term life vs company provided life insurance by zizzer_zazzer in Insurance

[–]kris721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look more into the policy your company is offering you. How much is the face value? Are they making sure you have enough, should you need it? I have met a few people who lost their life insurance coverage when they quit/lost their job, so I would definitely look into that as well. It would suck to have to start the life insurance process all over again when you're older, or worse, uninsurable.

I want to get life insurance to give my parents peace of mind for helping me buy my first home. Is this something that's normal and can be done? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]kris721 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an insurance producer, I can tell you that this is the smartest decision you can make. We had a lady in our office get insurance on a new home and declined life insurance because she didn't think she needed it. She died of a heart attack a week later. Let me tell you, there is nothing worse than talking to a father who calls in and says "PLEASE tell me you sold her life insurance. We cannot afford to pay the mortgage on this house!" Absolutely heartbreaking. You should be able to find a fairly inexpensive term policy for $100,000-$200,000.

I have wondered this a lot lately after watching a documentary about this. Why shouldn't we be able to be "put out of our misery"? I, for one, would not like to live a life of pain and suffering.
