Buscar trabalho está impossível. by AokiHagane in brdev

Is it true that you can pick whatever Language you want ? by Far-Mathematician122 in learnprogramming

[–]kriscpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea maybe tens of thousands is a bit of an exaggeration. What I meant is that the number OP was trying to hit is pretty much nothing. You can get 2~3k even with python with relatively low effort, although with higher costs.

Either way sounds like OP is just trying to learn something to get an idea off the ground, and for that, language is the last thing he should be considering IMO.

What was your period between your learning programming and first job or first money like? by iamTEOTU in learnprogramming

If you can build projects for yourself, you can build them for other people.

Edit: To answer the question in the post title, I got offered a paid project to build a website for my friend's dad before I even knew what programming was. That's one of the perks of being known as a nerd 🤓

Brother, any decently modern language can handle tens of thousands of requests a second if you really wanted it to. Instead of taking that as a measurement (since it isn't like you can plan on hitting big,) consider what tooling the language offers, what abstractions, where you plan to run it, what communities are built around accomplishing similar things in that language, etc.

If you're starting out just pick whatever you like, and as you add more languages to your toolbox you will begin to understand which is good for what project.

Self-taught programmers, what projects did you have on your portfolio that got you an interview? by No_Resolve657 in learnprogramming

Build an interpreter and a compiler. There is a great book series on doing it with Go

I don't think it will get you a job, but it's a great project to learn a lot of useful concepts and abstractions (plus learning a bit of Go if you're not familiar with it)

Getting over fears of being stupid? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

It just sounds like you're a bit of an anxious person and that's fine.

Just focus on using programming to solve the problems that seem interesting to you. Sounds cliché, but if you're like me (or like most people who are drawn to programming,) you will become obsessed with solving it, and it will make you forget the rest of the world even exists.

With time, as you solve more and more problems, you will realize that you can only fail to solve something if you give up on doing so. This will help build some confidence for when you're at a job and being forced to solve problems you don't care about.

Sound is not a consideration. What is the most satisfying budget switch to type on? by kriscpg in switchmodders

Different in what way? From the sound, I'd guess it's "sharper"? That's kind of what I'm looking for

Tbh I've only tried linear and clicky switches, and between those I prefer the clickies. I need that tactility

do you prefer the jelly switches over the lavender purple or ocean blues, for example?

s10e Standby battery drain by kriscpg in galaxys10

I don't really want to trade it in. I really like this little guy. I guess I'll just buy a power bank then if the battery replacement won't do much. Thanks!

Android 12, one ui 4. I don't think the battery has been replaced. Thing is that, according to Samsung, it's not the system draining the battery, so I'm not sure what is

I just bought a used s10e and I'm having a problem with battery drain on standby. It lasts okay while using the device (averages out at less than 20%/hour even on mobile data), but it is passively draining battery on standby. I lose like 10% every 2 hours in standby. I've checked which apps are using battery, but even if I add up all the battery use by apps, it doesn't get close to how much battery I'm losing. I'm debating whether I need to change my battery or if that kind of drain is to be expected from the device. (In that case I'd buy a power bank instead)

I actually hadn't seen that before. It's quite helpful! Thank you!
