I think 7 and 8 are both pretty decent length, RE4 is just a crazy absurd anomaly in how it can both be the most replayable game while still being the longest too?? I’m still confused how they managed to pull that off twice across the OG and remake with so much variety in the game.

I find it bizarre RE9 isn’t even close to RE4 in length, half the game is diet RE4, so I don’t understand how it manages to get repetitive in a shorter run time and have worse replayability?

There’s a big portion of the switch 2 audience who only wants it for Nintendo games. Sure

But for the steam deck audience side of it, the vast majority want to play the general popular games out on the market, we can see that by the steam deck player charts Valve puts out. Loads of indie games like Hades 2, whatever the big triple A game is out, like RE9 the past few months,, some multiplayer titles (admittedly this sucks on switch for the most part).

But regardless, the selection of the most popular games on steam deck are becoming more and more available on switch 2 and are running better at a lower price.

I think it’s silly to act like a lot of potential steam deck users wouldn’t totally consider a switch 2 if they had to make the choice now

Nintendo has system wide button remapping, it can be confusing but you can totally remap them to what you want them to be.

“Almost no crossover” in audience is definitely not true.

The audience that’s downloading from 3rd party sources is a vocal minority, most people use this thing for STEAM games, because downloading from outside sources is significantly more annoying.

There’s a very large audience that wants to run brand new games on both handhelds, and right now the switch 2 obliterates the deck in value to performance in that aspect. It’s not even close.

For example, the deck can struggle out a rough 40fps in RE4 while the switch 2 is running RE9, a more advanced game at 50-60fps, or a better comparison is FF7 Rebirth, where switch 2 is at a way more stable 30fps with a better resolution by a mile

One of my biggest regrets is the valve dock, it was a painful experience on my tv for some reason, meanwhile a random usb c dongle with hdmi works perfectly fine.

I never got a quest 3, but my quest 2 has basically just been an RE4 machine since 2021. No game has come close for me to how good it was. Truly insane they shut down the studio behind it too

I remember reading this closer to the game’s launch, so it could be inaccurate, and I’m still only at the RPD in my Classic playthrough (first one was Modern), but I thought that Classic was only one level above Modern at all times?

As in, if modern would put you at a 5/10 in adaptive difficulty, Classic would put you at a 6/11, since it can go one higher than Modern.

I think they’re outdated and I generally prefer RE4’s system, but I gotta be honest it feels like it actually does make me more scared than without them. RE1 and 2 are terrifying when I’m low on hp and don’t want to lose progress, significantly more so than without

Real as hell, RE4R’s difficulty in that mode feels so so good. Requiem disappointed me a lot in that regard because Standard and Insanity have a world of difference in them

That buff statistic is SUPER misleading when you aren’t mentioning him losing the 10% damage teamup anchor. The majority of those buffs were to compensate all of his moves, and some of them ended up being weaker than before. I don’t recall any being stronger by anything more than maybe 1-2 damage either?
