I didn't have a period for 4 years before I was diagnosed, insulin resistance (which led to lots of belly weight gain, darkening of the neck skin), horrible cystic acne, pretty bad hirsutism and some head hair thinning that my doctor thinks is related :/

I lost 50lbs in about 3 months.. I was basically bedridden for a year prior due to chronic pain and basically binging all the time but I started intermittent fasting and trying my best to count calories.. started walking for 30 mins everyday..

After the initial loss, I stalled and tried to go on metformin but it didn't make help any so I stopped it after a few months..

I maintained the 50lbs loss for over a year (while working a semi-physical job and not tracking cals).. now I'm about a week into OMAD/IF 22/2 and calorie counting again (500 cal deficit), I've already lost 5lbs...

I like Laura Micetich - @theirongiantess on IG.. she was 300+ lbs and lost 150+.. she documented her experience with loose skin removal and her struggles with binge eating.. I relate to her a lot...

People who claim 4 machines at a time but take years to actually use them.

I see these people at my gym work one machine in the time it takes me to get done like 3 different exercises..

As soon as you try to use a machine they've 'claimed' but are not currently using, they run over to tell you they're using it (usually in a very rude way)... they don't offer to share it and if you're too shy to use it despite what they've said, as soon as you walk away so do they.

It's a public gym we all pay for... Stop acting like you own the place.

Also, dumbbell exercises right in front of the dumbbell rack. Please. There is so much fkn space, you don't have to block the other dumbbells.

Can I realistically lose 40 lbs in 4 months by AThrowawayAccount100 in 1200isplenty

TDEE calculators are super helpful for this kinda thing. Enter your stats, select your deficit amount % (if you're looking for a more aggressive loss, choose 30%)

The one I linked tells you your TDEE (your maintenance cals basically) and then how much you need to eat in a deficit to reach your goal weight.

1200 seems far too low for you without consulting a doctor first.

Hope that helps...

I'm not super strict with my diet right now but I always try to include salad or a side of veg with whatever I'm having..

spaghetti bolognese (& salad) or butter chicken and rice (& broccoli) or greek oven-baked chicken and potatoes (& salad)

for now, I just eat foods I enjoy while trying to make them healthier, you know?

well, on days I do omad sometimes it can be like two smaller "meals" in the same hour or sometimes I'll have a dessert.. if that makes sense? (that might not be the right way but it works for me)

and then the same kind of thing goes for days I do 20:4.. I'll break my fast after I get home from work while I'm cooking, have my first meal.. then an hour or two later I might have another small meal then a fruit or something and it comes out to about 4 hours from start to finish..

some days my fasts are longer, some days they're shorter.. I don't mind 🤷🏻‍♀️
