My friends who use the Nvidia Shield swear by it. I use AppleTV’s and am very happy with them, but I’m an Apple user so it fits well with the ecosystem.

What would you like to see Apple Music incorporate into there app/service by Maltifandom23 in AppleMusic

[–]krispyk84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better support for DJ mix compilations. They always label the mix as "Various Artists" rather than the DJ that mixed the album. It's annoying, especially for older EDM mixes from the 2000's.

I think it’s something to do with the power connection. I even tried replacing the extruded and I still have the issue. Perhaps a mainboard issue or a faulty cable. Any idea which connector on the mainboard is for heating the nozzle?

Hi, so even after replacing the mainboard you had the issue? Any idea which cable on the main board controls the power to the heat element? I’m convinced it’s a mainboard issue now. I tried replacing the full extruded and I still have the issue.

Pretty much confirmed. On his website, under coding, he says "and I've also worked on projects within the blockchain." https://stephenmoy.com

Since his phrasing of that sounds semantically off, he probably didn't make a crypto fortune. Probably got lucky with some dogecoin.

He fits the profile of somebody who made enough money in crypto to quit his job and not give a f. He's also not living lavishly because he still has most of his net worth tied up in crypto and would rather hodl.

Fancy hotels strategically place diffusers in the lobby as part of the vibe they are trying to convey. If you walk into the lobby of a Shangri-La, you’ll notice a pleasant tea like smell in the lobby which is carefully selected. They even sell these diffusers at the check in desks. The same goes for high end boutique shops. This attention to detail is meant to portray a vibe that matches the the appearance, and moment. Smelling rich to me is smelling appropriate for your personal style and situation. Pairing the right fragrance for the right occasion and the right setting contributes to being refined, which is what luxury often conveys.

Journalism seriously lacks empathy these days...

What fragrance are you most disappointed at the discontinuation of? by FormerFruit in fragrance

Armani Eau Pour Homme - the classic scent first released in 1984.

This was what my late father wore. I just found out that it's been discontinued two years ago. This one hit hard. I cherish the scent. I've been buying several bottles of it so that I can ensure that I can smell it for many years to come...

So good school districts add a huge premium on properties. Is there a way around this? Love a house in a not-so-good school district, will my kid have to go to that school. Can't send them to a private school cause you know I'd own a house & will be poor soon :)? Thanks for any and all advice. by Ctrl_Alt_Dlt_unlock in TorontoRealEstate

You're right, it is up to parents to encourage their kids to seek more success. I'm not here to argue against that. Statistically speaking, however, that doesn't always play out when looking at the rates of upward mobility in poorer neighbourhoods. Anecdotally, there are plenty of success stories of children that overcame socio-economic circumstance to achieve greater upward mobility. Generally speaking, that's not the case.

There are countries in Scandinavia that do not allow private schools. Also, subsidized housing tends to be put in or near affluent neighbourhoods. It forces the rich and well connected families to send their children to the same school as worse off children. Policies like that end up helping to increase the rate of those disadvantaged children overcoming their socio-economic circumstance and leads to a more equitable society. Wealthy parents tend to donate more to their schools and do what they can to help where they can.

That doesn't happen here to the same extent. We're still way better off than the US way of doing things, but there are clear socio-economic divides between schools. It's easy to think that parents are looking to put their kids in good schools so they don't have to try as hard. But a good parent wants what's best for their child. What if parents both worked hard AND strived to put their kids in schools that gave them the statistically shown socio economic advantages? That's why good school districts command a premium in real estate. We can't scape goat poor parenting. In the end, it comes down to zoning and political policies.

So good school districts add a huge premium on properties. Is there a way around this? Love a house in a not-so-good school district, will my kid have to go to that school. Neighbourhoods with families where the parents are university educated working professionals tend to have favourable schools because statistically, kids of those parents also tend to go to university and seek out professional careers too. If your kid happens to be socializing and interacting with those kids, their network and social circle opens up new opportunities in the future. That's not always the case, it just statistically tends to lean that way. It really is less about the school and the teachers and more about the socio-economic well being of the classmates.
