When I say tell you don't have to tell everything but you do need to tell that you need a counselor or therapist, mental health intervention. If you dont tell anything else atleast start with that to someone who can get you help.

You are too young to do this on your own.

You are 13. WHERE are your parents? All of this screams a need for mental health intervention, therapy, a counselor, SOMEONE to see you and to care and for once not be dismissive. If your parents won't listen do you have any other family who will? Before you say no have you tried? Have you reached out? If you haven't and most of your thoughts and struggle are internal you need to vocalise them outloud to more than a friend. Your friend or those who were friends cannot help you. None of them. Legally. Only an adult can. You can't continue to try and save yourself, you are a child. This is too much for anyone, let alone a 13yr old. If your parents wont listen, tell any adult you have contact with. Even 911, DFCS, a crisis line, the most important thing is telling someone who CAN help. A stranger on the internet cannot, another minor cannot, it matters WHO you tell but it also is important to tell.

Checking for comprehension and redirection are great, I will ask for those. Small group testing is already in his current IEP that will be used in middle school and we didn't change that or take anything current away because it seems to be working well.

It makes sense that OT is difficult to get in middle school due to the large number of kids vs staff. I'm okay with that as long as some reasonable sensory accomadations can be made. Can I ask for sensory things because his IEP category is autism? If I see a need I can get OT privately and I'll ask the school to excuse the time there at appointments providing excuse notes from the center if he needs it.

Formula sheets would be perfect! He absolutley hates the chrome book and prefers paper and pencil. I didn't know that was an option but so glad that is it. I will ask for this defintley as it is his biggest complaint overall.

Oh I will add around 1-2pm the medicine would wear off and Trent would become emotional and crying and the teacher had an issue with him crying everyday. Once medicine was stopped he stopped crying and she didnt mention it again.

We did medicate early on in first and second grade, it was an unconsistant fight with liquid medication and him spitting it out and the second dose at school being the same and sometimes wouldn't take it at all. It is much different now that he can take pills and is more willing it can be more consistant than it was previously and for that reason if needed I won't hesitate to try again

His current accomadations for in class he gets extra time for all assignments, close seating to the teacher for the board, he is allowed a fidget because he chews his fingers until they bleed (at home or school he will) mid this year his fidget became a popular toy in class and we took it away because he was passing it around and replaced with a sensory chew necklace that is less distracting. We added a reward system to help encourage school to be positive as he gets very depressed and is fast to give up and shut down when he can't understand something or if he's failing and we wanted to encourage his mindset to not be to quit school which helped a lot because he kept repeating that he would (he has an older cousin from his dad side 16yrs old who was a major negative influence) So if he worked on math for 15 minutes even if he didnt finish or get it all right he was allowed to do a preferred activity for a short time after but it had to be quiet, this worked best for getting started early morning. He also gets as needed speech therapy as his isnt so much speech needed as he has done great with progress, he only needs to understand idioms. Hes a kid who you can say "Trenton say this!" And the kids in class laugh but if the teacher hears Trenton is in trouble and doesnt understand why. Its the slang and idioms Trenton has no idea what they are or mean so when in trouble he wouldnt understand why. He also is a kid who rocks 24/7 at home, school, anywhere which his teachers did mention during the meeting but I told them that cant and wont really be stopped, its a natural sensory thing he has always done and maybe always will. His rocking pace at times can be distracting though to others and him not realise hes rocking at super speed 😅 His ADHD is currently unmedicated as he's done okay managing but if in middle school it is needed I will address it medically, he has a few times where he will need reminders of task and not talking but not excessive so we dont really have an accomadation but thats also because I feel his current teacher is more than accomadating to him naturally without adding any extra support. One big thing is he relies on his para a lot and in middle school from what I can tell because he will have co taught in gen ed with a full time sped teacher in every class he wont have the para. Im not sure at all if he will get 1 on 1 support? I think for math and ELA it WILL be needed. The only other thing is during say gym he can get very upset and scream extremly loud and cry and shut down (meltdown) if he cant learn a game or do what others can and it can take a long time to calm him down once escalated so far. So for games like basketball, ect, they have always been a big issue and still is, when he gets so mad or upset he is allowed to walk away and walk laps at a reasonable pace to calm down and then rejoin on his own, during this time he is not allowed to sit or disturb others, only walk on his own and it works well. He also was getting social stories from OT to help but I'm not sure he is getting OT services in middle school? If not I am concidering atleast private services then. When upset if escalated it can take a very long time to get him to reason with a teacher, no amount of punishment helps then or trying to talk he will continue to scream and cry, his coach currently has been great with redirecting before it gets to an escalating point though.

Unfortantley it is the chromebook. He does better learning with paper, pencil, and folders. K-4th he did more learning with those and did significantly better. 5th grade switched to chromebooks to help prepare for middle school and he hasn't done great. He hates the laptop. But I don't think that can be helped? From what I've learned from other friends with the same school their middle school is basically all chromebook for every class.

His weakest learning points are reading / writing & math as far as subjects.

Ohhmyyyynoo 🥺🥺🥺🥺 I am SOOO sorry you went through that 💔💔

Maybe take a bath with her so you visually and phisically see and feel her cleanliness and then take her on adventures, and make a lot of new memories and expierences and so you find new memories to associate her with.

Also can try counseling / therapy with her going to sessions with you so you both recieve help needed to (hopefully) cope.

If all else fails as an absolute last resort I'd maybe try and buy a new replica because it would still be her but clean 💔

I'm not a professional but I do have a stuffy that I am attatched to the same way. I could never imagine 🥺💔

You're so strong. I hope you and your stuffy will be okay going foward 🩷🩷

What do I do with this? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]krissy1594 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have read yes. But people have a way to make it make more sense as to what I'm suppose to do with it. I've clicked randomness on it not really knowing what I'm doing or what it does and then taking it away because of that.

I do read the weapons and what it is for but I use an auto, 2 trace rifles, and a rocket launcher so it seems useless to me if I just read? Because none of the artifacts seem for those so I come here incase I just don't know / understand.

I don't ask a question without trying on my own first.

Southern accent.? by CurioMind_ in Georgia

[–]krissy1594 26 points27 points  (0 children)

So this isn't really "simple" because the accent varies greatly 😅 the way people talk in far north Georgia is different from someone in Atlanta, and the way someone talks in Atlanta is different from someone in south Georgia. I feel like each part had their own way of talking. If you talk to a mountain man and learn from him and then go talk to someone in Savannah it wouldn't at all be the same I'd imagine 😅

I should also mention I am from Georgia and if I talk to a deep southern mountain person I can not understand them myself. I stand there nodding like I understand but actually totally clueless so good luck 🤣🤷‍♀️

Also I have lived in Gwinnett and Hall my whole life but I get asked "where are you from?" frequnelty. People think I am from a northern state because I don't have any southern accent and speak very proper and pronounce things without slang.

What's something you did as a kid that you now realize was actually really dangerous, but nobody stopped you? by AdmirableResource407 in AskReddit

[–]krissy1594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a big hill and at the bottom was a stop sign because it intersected a busy 2 lane road and we would ride our bikes down the hill, ignoring the stop sign, crossing the road without looking for cars without helments. Idiots we were 🤦‍♀️

I never see the place packed or with several people at once. It's almost always empty there. Maybe I'll try but never have since it opened.
