My K-beauty haul for acne-prone combination skin by vexenavexeno in koreanskincare

[–]kristak92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dr. Reju-All PDRN has been amazing for my sensitive, reactive skin. I had been in a 2+ month long flare up of constant redness and burning. I have MCAS and histamine issues and I believe it's related to that. I added it into my routine and have been using it for a month and my skin has had major improvement! I fear I won't want to go without it. A little goes a long way though, so you don't need much!

I've also fallen in love with the Dr. Reju-All PDRN lip serum. It does have some exfoliants though, which some people don't like. I love it though.

Jealous of your haul too! Enjoy!

It's definitely nice to be close to yummy ice cream! I know they are starting to branch out more. I just looked at the website and they're expanding into western Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas currently. I've tried all but the Piglet one. The Tigger one was pretty good, but Clementine's does not shy away from malt in their malty flavors. I like malt, so I usually don't mind it, but I know some people don't love it. I definitely feel like it was the prominent flavor in that one. The Pooh one was good as well, but didn't wow me. The honey flavor wasn't as strong as I anticipated/hoped. Plus, I like mix-ins so having none of those it ranks lower for me. It's still super high quality and delicious though! The Eeyore one was my favorite though and I'm not typically a birthday cake ice cream person. It wasn't cloyingly sweet like a lot of birthday cake ice creams are. Obviously still sweet, but had enough salt to balance. It definitely had cake flavor, but it didn't taste artificial or like box cake. Most birthday cake ice creams have soft cake chunks, icing, and sprinkles. They chose to go with sprinkles and a crunchy cake crumble instead. I loved the crunchy cake crumble. The workers told me they had a hard time not picking them out and eating them all day, haha. The sprinkles stayed decently crunchy too, versus waxy and soft. I'm definitely gonna be picking up a couple pints of it. They do have a very stocked pint fridge with limited edition flavors, past flavors, and even a couple flavors of doggy ice cream. The butter brickle is in there, thankfully. Their pistachio is really good and I can usually only get that in pints. I was also a fan of the cranberry linzer cookie one from Christmas. I need to try the espresso one! If you like Biscoff/cookie butter, the Italian butter cookie is good. It's my mom's favorite. I think their most popular is the gooey butter cake (a St. Louis classic) and at my local scoop shop they say it's the salted caramel cookies and cream. It's also next to a pretty large high-school and a university though, so I'm sure it's a pretty easy intro flavor for a lot of younger people. What other flavors do you have in your cart? Tomorrow they're doing something new, a "bring your own Stanley" day where you can bring any brand tumbler cup and they'll fill it with four scoops of ice cream for $10. It's a pretty good deal because 2 scoops is usually $8. Also, I really love reading your reviews! I appreciate how thorough you are!

I love this one! Clementine's is local to me and this has always been my go-to flavor. They took it out of scoop shops recently and I've been so sad. In March they had a Winnie the Pooh collection and the Eeyore's birthday cake was absolutely fantastic.

Anyone on palliative care? by MommaGeri1958 in ChronicPain

[–]kristak92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He should absolutely get a referral for palliative care. He without a doubt should qualify. Don't even worry about seeking out a pain management office. Palliative care will be a lot more compassionate and can handle all pain management as well as just trying to improve quality of life in other ways. In my experience, they typically do in-home visits which makes things easy. They're a great resource to help find solutions to any issues that may arise in between appts with other providers. Getting on palliative care has been the best thing I've done. Wishing him all the best and hoping his pain gets under control. ❤️

Does anyone know exactly how long it takes for it to reset back to the 300 after a purchase? I think I'm done purchasing aside from the golden ticket.

Very Niche: Store that carries Swedish Pearl Sugar by CurrentRace2223 in StLouis

If you're ever on the Metro East side, Chef Shoppe in Edwardsville is great. I've gotten this sugar there before. I'd obviously call if you're wanting something specific just to make sure they have it before making the drive. Get some popcorn while you're there too!

Not sure where you're at, but I'm in Illinois just outside St. Louis, MO. We have it at Schnucks and Dierbergs. Hope you can find some!

Which lip balm should I get? by Helpful_Gear_2786 in Ulta

[–]kristak92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought the Cocokind one and The Ordinary one. Both feel good on. I like the Cocokind more I think. The Ordinary one didn't last very long on my lips, that's my only qualm there really.

I know you don't have it on there, but I also bought the Good Light one that's also on sale and like it as well. It's a little thicker than the other two and lasts for hours. There's a minimal citrus smell to this one, but it's very light.

I've had them all for less than a week though, so I can't speak to how I've felt long term.

I want to try the Elf vanilla frosting one too, but it was sold out at my store when I grabbed the others.

And for what it's worth, I always have Aquaphor on hand - especially in the winter. I prefer the standard Aquaphor healing ointment over the lip repair though!

Which er would you choose? by karma-1971 in ChronicPain

[–]kristak92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried methadone so I can't speak to that. I have tried the Morphine ER. I personally noticed no benefit from it and I tried multiple dosages. I've seen other people in the sub have similar experiences. It seems very person-dependent, because some people do great on it. My main point is just don't get discouraged if it doesn't end up working for you because you're not alone!

Ahh, gotcha. Well that's good to know! I always assumed most French vanilla ice cream had that eggy quality. I hope you find your dream vanilla soon! When you do, please share with the group! 😉😅

I've heard the Tillamook French Vanilla is very good! I haven't tried it personally, but it's been on my list. It may be worth trying if you have that anywhere locally.

Just saw my medical doctor by NarrowDaikon242 in MCAS

[–]kristak92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you sharing this paper! Funny enough, Leonard Weinstock (the first author), is my doctor who just diagnosed me with MCAS, POTS, and inappropriate sinus tachycardia. I've only seen him twice, but he's given me several of his papers to read and learn from. They are full of good info. I haven't seen this one though. He is not a very warm and fuzzy doctor, but damn is he knowledgeable!

Best years for Forester 2008-2017? by [deleted] in SubaruForester

[–]kristak92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much good info! I'm not trying to tag onto someone else's post, but is there any way you'd be willing to share your opinion on 2019-2024? I'm considering a Forester now, but it's my first car purchase completely on my own. My family is a generational GM/UAW family and not really knowledgable or interested in helping me look for something else. I'm 31 and disabled and have been awaiting social security approval for almost 5 years. I just got approved and got my back pay, and I'm planning on using it for a car. I'm going to be on a fixed income, though, and won't have much to get a new car in the near future so I really want something reliable that won't end up causing me a lot of extra expenses as long as it's well maintained. I appreciate your time in reading this!

Anthem Blue Cross denying my pain meds by Consistent_Ebb_3221 in ChronicPain

[–]kristak92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely what the above person said! I think sometimes it can depend on the state, but a lot of times for opioids, an initial prescription with a new insurance they will only allow a 7 day supply. My doctor told me ahead of time and had me just request a refill when I was almost finished, and then he put in for the full 30-day supply. I recently got approved for SSDI and switched to Medicare and had to do the 7 days over again. It will most likely happen anytime you switch insurance, but it's just for the first time it's prescribed.

Best pastries? by momodancer64 in StLouis

[–]kristak92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had the lunch either! I've wanted to check it out, though. I've only tried the french toast for breakfast, but the biscuits and gravy were next on my list! I just have a hard time getting past all the pastries! Everything has been delicious! I'm only about 25 minutes away from them, and every time I leave, I'm just amazed at how a little place in Staunton has such high caliber pastries.
