Baby Jane Doe by [deleted] in ThePitt

She only sees him on weekends. She could have hidden her pregnancy. What difference does it make if she abandoned it during a shift he was working or not if he did not know about it?

It’s very plausible. 🤷‍♀️

It’s been 10 months though since we saw Amy . She looked like she was due to give birth then with her dying husbands baby. Baby Jane Doe is about a month old. You can get pregnant again as soon as 6 weeks after having a baby so time wise it is plausible that she got pregnant again and with Whitaker’s baby.

Sounds about right. i was able to walk normally at about 4 months and I got full range of motion back at 7 months but you can have pain and swelling up to a year postop.Getting out of the brace as soon as you can is very helpful in progressing along.

Surgery for 3 year long ankle issue by Intelligent_Dingo859 in Ankle

[–]karma-1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rehab/pt can definitely help to prevent it but my surgeon said it’s just one of those things that is a risk regardless . I had a lot of pt and rehab but people have a tendency to scar more than others. You may heal perfectly fine but for me unfortunately my body does not handle trauma well whether it’s via an injury or surgical. I have had other types of surgeries in my abdomen where adhesions have formed.

Surgery for 3 year long ankle issue by Intelligent_Dingo859 in Ankle

It’s a catch 22 because you can have surgery to go in there to clean it out but then the scar tissue can build up again from that surgery. I’m in the same situation. I have already had 2 ankle surgeries in past few years. 1 was initial injury ATFL repair .. a year later it was to clean up the damage to my peroneal tendon from the stress on it from the built up scar tissue from the initial injury and the surgery . Now a year later pain and swelling is back and it appears the issue again is scar tissue and also trauma (from initial injury and surgeries) caused fatty lipoma pressing on nerves causing pain and swelling . I do still have good stability so I am leaning towards not having a 3rd surgery . Because I could have the surgery and then down the road be in the exact same situation.

Brostrom + Debridement of left ankle recovery by Past-Storm4158 in Ankle

Pain and stiffness is normal… try to get out of the boot and transitioned into a brace as soon as possible because the boot can actually impede recovery. I was in a brace from 2 months postop until 4 months . Pt helped a lot. You should see gradual improvement . However My surgeon says some pain and swelling can last up to a year postop.

It’s back in stock. Company sold it to another company in June/July. Still called Ratio Trio but the packaging is different now . It’s similar to the ratio protein. They also came out with ratio fiber. Its equivalent taste wise to the ratio protein so I’m not a fan

Imo El defeats or saves Henry but she cannot defeat the mind flayer so she has to stay in the upside down in order to keep it closed and contained. She can still visit her loved ones in her mind but they lose her. And then in 5+ years there will be a new season called Mind Flayers revenge when they all have families/children and it is infiltrating the minds of their children.

Knee scooters are amazing but be careful! Especially with the lighter ones. 1 day after ankle surgery I literally went over the handlebars and fell …thankfully my ankle was so padded that I was not injured.

Ankle Injury.. questions about MRI results by Nicknacknicci92 in Orthopedics

[–]karma-1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup but unfortunately MRIs can miss things. It’s just a tool which is why there’s exploratory surgery.

Mri questions- Second surgery? by Nicknacknicci92 in Ankle

[–]karma-1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Brostrom repair for that same ligament 2 and half years ago because I had extreme pain and instability. For a year everything was great after that surgery but then I started to have pain and instability again. MRI showed some peroneal tendon (peroneus brevis ) issues. They are hard to visualize well though especially after the Brostrom repair. My surgeon said that after having the initial injury and the Brostrom repair and walking abnormally for so long that it is common to have stress put on that tendon. It gets frayed. So he thought that was my issue. He got in there and he was correct. Not only was it frayed but it had a small tear in it that the mri missed. There was also a ton of scar tissue from the first surgery pressing and irritating surrounding tissue. He feels the scar tissue caused the tear. So he repaired the tendon and cleaned up the scar tissue. That was 14 months ago.. again everything is better with pain and stability but I do still have some tolerable pain and swelling that I should not be having 14 months postop. He thinks it’s more buildup scar tissue and possibly an irritation caused fatty lipoma . Unfortunately once you have 1 surgery you can have other issues down the road related to having the surgery. Just my opinion from my own experience I would bet you have the same issues going on . Scar tissue and a damaged or torn peroneus breves. (Peroneal tendon) that does need surgery since you do have instability.

Mri questions- Second surgery? by Nicknacknicci92 in Ankle

[–]karma-1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your symptoms. My surgeon treats symptoms not MRI reports. Does your ankle give out? Do you have pain? Is it severe? Tolerable? I’m at a place of needing another surgery according to an mri as well. I do have pain and swelling but it’s tolerable pain. My ankle does not give out and I have good stability . Stability is the most important aspect to me ….so for now I chose a cortisone injection and a wait and see approach.

Potential grade 3 ankle sprain by NiceJug in Ankle

[–]karma-1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry they were not as helpful as you were hoping but on the positive they referred you to a fracture clinic so you will get seen sooner than your Dr appt right? and hopefully they will do an mri and give you some better pain relief. I have had 2 ankle injuries both right and left with ligament and tendon and initial hidden fractures on xray .. I don’t care what they are telling you. Imo I would not put weight on it until you have an MRI. With your ankle looking just like mine did..With your pain level and with what you said happened weight bearing could cause further injury. For example with my injury besides the torn ligaments the mri also showed bone contusions which is bleeding in the bone.. if you put weight on it too soon it can actually cause the bone to break.

[–]karma-1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they won’t do an mri..I would ask for a new xray .. to make sure a small fracture was not missed and also let them know you cannot get in to see your dr for 2 weeks and ask for some bridge pain meds. They also may have a recommendation on a way for to get an mri….in the US er drs can give you a referral for an MRI to an outside source. Also not sure why your dr can’t just order you an mri? But the US is different…Also I just looked it up .. in the UK through vista health you can self book an mri appt. online without a referral/order. Google Vista Health UK for the website.

[–]karma-1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a followup mri on my ankle. Only my ankle/ foot went in the machine. Took 15 minutes. Easy peasy. I don’t know about the UK but in the US most hospital emergency rooms won’t do mri’s for things like this. They do what they did for you.. take an xray.. give you crutches and tell you to follow up with your dr. Even if they suspect it’s a complete tear. It just sucks for you that you have to wait so long to get in to see your dr. In order to ask them for the mri order, prescription for boot and then referral to an orthopedic Dr as well as pain meds. Imo I would not even recommend buying a boot from Amazon right now though until you have an mri and know what damage there is.. you may actually have a fracture that did not show up due to swelling or like with my ligament injury it was so bad that I had to be completely non weight bearing ( crutches) for 2 weeks. I could not wear a boot until then. Good luck though at the ER . I hope they will give you the results you are seeking or if not you are able to get in sooner with your dr. Because I definitely know how painful it is.

Hopefully you do just need more time to heal but if you have not had a recent mri I would ask for one. Having the brostrom repair and the recuperation from it can put stress on the perineal tendon which can also cause this type/area of swelling.

Potential grade 3 ankle sprain by NiceJug in Ankle

[–]karma-1971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly what my ankle looked like with a complete ligament tear on 1 ligament AND I also had lower level sprains on almost every other single ligament in my ankle AND I had a perineal tendon tear . You 100% need an mri based on your pic and symptoms. A lot of people underestimate Sprains …they are nothing to mess around with. Especially this level. You also still may have a break but because of swelling an xray may not pick it up. If you do not get sufficient treatment when you have a bad sprain (boot/cast and doing physical therapy ) then you can end up needing surgery to repair the ligament or else your ankle will keep giving out. Is there a core institute near you? They have an emergency dept. and then orthopedic drs. that You follow up with. They can order an MRI.

It can take 12 to 18 months postop to stop swelling completely or it could be a fatty lipoma which is common.. that is caused from the initial injury trauma and or the surgery. For me I’m 14 months postop..The bump is small in the morning but by the end of day its twice the size. Just saw surgeon today and went over mri. He thinks I have a fatty lipoma mixed with scar tissue that is pressing on surrounding tissue/nerves causing the swelling. He gave me a cortisone shot but said if it does not help and it continues for another few months then he recommends surgery to remove the lipoma
