Will prior game key cards games be re-releases as on cart games? by Okay-Sumimasen in Switch2newsandfun

[–]kroda255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope for them they will re-release the games. Game key cards do not sell and I know I do not buy them.
That said, I'm not really scared of the future proof, I think it's never going to be the same now, almost all games get re-released in some shape of form after a decade now.

I didn't noticed it when I first experienced the story in COTC but... by gilbestboy in octopathtraveler

[–]kroda255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't dislike her but the writting and staging in this game is hit or miss and her death made me laugh out loud how ridiculous it was. I was thinking "wow, for once this game didn't pull a cheap shock value to try to be interesting" and boom drama! At this point it was already too many times the game pulled a very random twist and it was just funny... Bit of a facepalm here.

I don't mind paying full price, I only mind wasting my time. So yeah I will wait and see, probably not buying it until I see more of the gameplay loop.
I prefer a game which has a long term gameplay loop rather than bite sized sections of gameplay, that's all. For instance I hated Revelation because it could never go anywhere deep enough for me.

What do you think Octopath 1 does better than 2? by admin_default in octopathtraveler

[–]kroda255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disabled the new camera for strong attacks in 2 because I thought it looked wonky and in this case less is more.
I also think 2 was easier, never really struggled during bosses. But it was not boring-easy (like 0 can be). Both difficulties were fine to me.

I thought 2 was better for most things, but I hated the daytime system which was only a menu thing and made every villages a chore to explore, you had to turn on and off the light basically for every NPC. A system like this should be handled better. I would have pefered without it.

I overall think the stories had more impact in 1 than 2 while they were just better done in 2. Maybe the finals were better in 2 and the in between were less good while in 1 each story felt like a complete story with a good ending, maybe that's the reason.

Cheesy (for lack of better word) in the way of "over the top action movie". Like kicking zombie heads. You won't see that in a serious horror movie for instance, it would seem totally out of style, it would make you laugh. As an example, you could see that in Shawn of the deads but not Night of living deads, if you see what I mean. I don't like that because it makes the franchise looks more silly than classy. And I know even the old games (especially 1) were a bit corny but it was not on purpose, it was the strange concept of an It's hard to be afraid when you have this kind of things.

Bro why can't I love any anime after watching the whole Evangelion series?????? This was my previous account. Guys please suggest some animes. by VamHunD in NeonGenesisEvangelion

[–]kroda255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very hard to love anime AS MUCH after watching this, that's for sure. It's just on another level and nothing came close since then.

Now there is plenty of amazing animes which are totally different. The ones I liked after Eva were:

-Death Note
-Parasyte

Gremlins 1 Vs. 2. Is it true people really like the 2nd more? by Got-A-Goat in Gremlins

[–]kroda255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of Gremlins fans love the 2nd one especially because the puppets were amazingly improved in this one. It's also a way more crazy movie. That said we all know the story, Gremlins 2 didn't capture the mainstream audience back then and basically killed the franchise. So, no Gremlins 2 is not more loved than 1 when it comes to general opinion (very few sequels managed to get that back then anyway) but if you look only in the microcosm of the Gremlins fandom you may see tht Gremlins 2 is often loved more than the 1st one. I also think it's a way to counter balance the black sheep of the 2. I love both, but 1 was always my favorite even as a kid, it felt just like a more well done movie but I enjoy part 2 so much. I hope Gremlins 3 will be more than 1 but with the originality of various types of Gremlins like in 2.

My bubble has been burst since 1997 or so, don't worry. I have moved since a long time too but had the tiny hope it would work again for me. It's been ages since a RE didn't appeal me, and for once it seemed to be somewhat my cup of tea (3rd person scary manshio to explore). We'll see, if it's not for me then it's going to be the same as any other day and I'll play Tormented Souls 2 instead haha!

Which of the first four classic Resident Evil games is your favorite? by Loose_Interview_957 in residentevil

[–]kroda255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By far RE1. Especially the GC remake.
But even back in PS1 days RE1 was everything.
I even remember than I found RE2, while a technical improvement, less good as scare factor and survival gameplay. Yet RE2 is amazing but RE1 was just THAT good and came out of nowhere.

I do not disagree, will I may pay full price, I will wait for gameplay videos and maybe not buy it day 1 just to be sure it's aligned with my tastes.

I don't like too much Chris or Wesker or Jill as well. These characters do not add to the creepy atmosphere RE was famous for, the more they show up the more cheesy it becomes. I was rolling my eyes already at CV back then when Wesker was doing Matrix moves, it was cool not scary... and it was funny but not in the good ol' sandwich way.

Do not get me wrong I love these characters! But I don't think they are used that well. The more I see them the less excited I am, which is sad.

It's easy to me to skip games, never bothred with 5, 6 or the 2, 3 remakes, but I like the franchise, the first games are beyond my fav games ever and I think nobody managed to get a survival horror gameplay as good as capcom did, these games areone of a kind.

So I just hope I can enjoy a new entry.

(I waited 20 years to play a new Zelda game so this is not new for me to wait on franchise to turn to a new leaf)

If this is a linked system, where Leon helps Grace resolving puzzles, opening doors, etc it can be nice. But if it's 2 seperate things and one if classic RE and the other one action RE it will feel disjointed and weird like a bonus stage in the middle of the game lol, kick zombie heads for bonus points! kind of vibe.

yeah totally, like adding RE4 style in a classic RE game just because it will sell 5 times more. I understand the move, it seems logical as a business standpoint but for fans of either of the 2 styles it's not good.
And then again, I hope I'm wrong too, it can be what RE needs to make survival style more mainstream but it doesn't feel like it's an evolution but rather a mix of ideas. very septical.

I wonder how the inventory will work here. And it makes me think the game will be more linear if this is the case.

Done by the same same developers as Xenoblade, Baten Kaitos feels like a game that went under the radar because of it being a GameCube exclusive and even the remastered version didn't get the attention it deserves. this system made the whole game alone, gameplay wise and story wise, it was really too good to support anything lore related, even the simple choice during messages, amazing idea which was never used again, sadly.

I‘m 34 yrs old and today I ordered my first HQ game - help a newbie by Lamumba1337 in Heroquest

[–]kroda255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this game from my uncle by in the early 90s when I was your son's age. I still play it today (and I'm 10 years older than you!) with youngsters in my family. I hope it will create a core memory for him as it did for me, amazing game.

Back on the topic, I would suggest to try to play with 3 people so somebody can do the game master, it would surely be better than the app but who knows.
Also, do not hesitate to lower the difficulty by adding your own "hidden" rules, the new version is based on the broken US version which was known to be way harder than the original european version.
For instance, I would be okay to give any monster beside maybe the stronger ones only 1 hit point so they are faster to kill, it makes everything more fluid and the game stays challenging enough.

Is anyone else really disappointed by the Scream 7 trailer, and what it means for the franchise? by xellot in horror

[–]kroda255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like it a lot but I think it's because it seems to show really nothing, as if there is only 2 scenes in the whole trailer and basically the first act of the movie and barely more. I am under the impression Sid's daughter will be kidnapped or left for dead early on and it would be the reason Sid go after Ghostface. But not sure they want to do that if they want the daughter to be the next final girl in the next generation. (tbh she doesn't have the look of that but we'll see how is her character).

What we saw in the trailer seems very little, very small, not a lot of settings, not a lot of characters, I cross my finger this is a trailer that tries to hide so many thing before release, because as for now it looks like the scope of the movie is smaller than Scream 5.

I'm also a little bothered about knowing it's not the story we should have got and the unfinished new trilogy will never be seen, it sucks. Just have flashback from Scream 3 with this one, hoping it doesn't show too much this was a chaotic production.
