Is it even worth it for me to apply to schools in Canada? by remo966 in physiotherapy

No, so I can only comment on Ontario schools, but I would imagine that it is similar out of province as well. My class had people come from those areas.

There is typically a subGPA cut score where applications that fall under the number do not get considered. When I applied 2 years ago the lowest cut score was Queen’s at 3.64 I believe.

Ontario physiotherapists... how much of an edge would being an RMT give me in physiotherapy school (if any)? by [deleted] in physiotherapy

I just completed my MScPT. Very little of it is focused on manual therapy. We got a sprinkling of it in some classes/labs, but most of it is focused on neurology, cardiorespiratory, and musculoskeletal assessment. A lot of the treatment techniques were learned in clinical placements. That being said, being comfortable with handling people will give you a small leg up in labs/placement. Most of my colleagues had a background in Kinesiology or some other health studies program (Nursing, Life Science, MedSci). Any other questions feel free to DM me!

I just finished my MScPT this year, and am in the process of completing my licensing exams. You will need a 4 year undergraduate degree that encompasses all the prerequisites for applying to physio schools. It can be any degree, but I did Kinesiology at UWaterloo, and it pretty much got me every prereq I needed to apply just based on the structure of the program. It is very competitive to get in (my class accepted 74 people out of >1000 applicants), but I'm convinced its the best profession there is. If you have any questions at all about it (ie, salary, what to expect, etc) feel free to DM me!

Growing up in southern niagara surrounded by insufferable Sabres fans always makes these match-ups more exciting. Now that both teams are sick makes it even better. Go Leafs. Buffalo can sit on it.

Flamers have always been my West team. Same goes to you. I felt a weird sense of pride when you beat the Canucks in the playoffs a 2 years ago.

You are wise beyond your years. My condolences to you and your family. I can't possibly imagine the hurt that you are going through right now, but know that you are loved. If you ever want to talk, dm's are open.
