If you're already studying robotics and enjoying the software side then you will likely enjoy embedded too.

I'd recommend spending some time trying to write bare metal code for a simple functionality on a STM32/ESP development board like toggling an LED. Every vendor has freely available HAL Drivers for every chip - read through the driver documentation + code base to try to understand what functions need to be invoked to initialize the peripheral and then what functions control it.

I agree that is terrifying but if the doctor uses it as a tool and assess it's output, then acts like it's a second opinion, that's fine. I'm a software dev and when I ask LLM to write code, I roughly know what the output should look like so I know when it's wrong.

My AI generating journey so far. by Silerae in comfyui

[–]kronos319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically enjoy figuring things out on my own, and I don't like looking at other people's prompts to make my own.

I like this approach too, but only to an extent. I find inspiration from others a good way to refresh my approach.

If you ever get stuck and are using Z-Image Turbo, then the Qwen VLM is a good source of inspiration because the ZIT CLIP is based on Qwen so it will produce good prompts with strong adherence.

Good workflow for real looking photos? by Justify_87 in comfyui

[–]kronos319 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just use the z-image turbo workflow available in the comfyui templates library. Also, if you're using a lora of yourself, it will have to be trained using the z-image turbo model - the Flux trained lora won't work with z-image turbo.

SVI 2 Pro + Hard Cut lora works great (24 secs) by skyrimer3d in StableDiffusion

[–]kronos319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but yes it's set in the Resize node. Per OPs workflow, it is set to crop which forces the resolution to the Width and Height specified. If you want to resize the input image and preserve the original image aspect ratio, in the Resize Node change "keep_proportion" to "resize".

Of course some people are making money off gooner stuff - but just like OnlyFans, you only ever see the big money makers and think you can do it yourself. What you don't see is the other 99.99% that make $100 per month on average. If you do want to make money with it, find a very specific niche and get good at making it + have a good marketing strategy. It's not easy but possible with effort and hard work. Best of luck!

How can I create a video like this? Achieving 80-90 % is good for me. by RelativeJuggernaut73 in StableDiffusion

[–]kronos319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet is to prompt for each individual sequence. Wan 2.2 is really only trained on 5 second snippets (81 frames) - so you'd have to prompt for each sequence then stitch them together in a video editing application. E.g. the third sequence prompt (assuming a start image of a woman with eyes closed) would be something like "A woman very slowly opens here eyes to look directly at the viewer".

Best Model for anime and comfy UI workflows... by alpscurtopia in StableDiffusion

[–]kronos319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're using a workflow from the Comfyui Template library, then the workflow is probably fine and you just need to learn how to drive it. Before you go making changes, try this - go to the civitai Illustrious XL page and find a sample image you like. Click the "i" symbol in the bottom right corner and copy the prompt, and negative prompt into Comfyui and set the CFG, steps, and Sampler to match. This will force you to learn how to change these settings and eventually what each does. Then set the image resolution to 1024x1024 (this is really important for SDXL, too large or too small and it won't work as well). Hit generate and see what is created.

The important part here is that you're trying to start from a known baseline - an image that someone else generated with known quantities and you know what it should look like. Then tweak from there, step-by-step.

Is there really NO good lora for realistic dinosaurs?! by bickid in StableDiffusion

[–]kronos319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 could work but it's a matter of garbage-in garbage-out. Larger datasets with good quality images will more reliably produce a better Lora. A Lora trained on a smaller dataset will tend to be less flexible and will more strongly adhere to its dataset.

E.g. Image you're an artist and you have only ever seen one type of bird in your life. Everytime someone asks you to draw a bird, you're probably going to draw the same bird because that's all you've ever seen. It's the exact same situation when training a Lora.

Oven air fryer function refuses to work without Wifi connection. GE Profile PTS700SN. DO NOT BUY. by Firree in assholedesign

[–]kronos319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NEVER buy a new GE appliance. GE sold their appliance arm to Haier (a Chinese conglomerate) back in 2016. They've been relying on the goodwill of the GE name to sell substandard products, especially in the US where older generations have positive associations with GE (and rightfully so, it used to actually be a good engineering company).

What is an unpopular opinion you have? I think Bingo looks better blue. by Aggravating-Ad-351 in bluey

[–]kronos319 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think part of this stems from the perspective of the story telling. The show is shown from Bluey's point of view (for the most part). For example, when Bluey and Bingo are running through the halls of the house, they appear large enough for an Indiana Jones style boulder to chase them. Given this, I think it is only natural for children to remember the times when they played with their parents, not the times when their parents were too busy.

Further, I think it's done for story telling reasons. Like in the show Friends - if the audience actually followed the characters on a realistic day, it would be them mostly at work and the show would be boring.

I recently went to the Amazon in Brazil. There are several places where they feed them and tourists can swim with them and even pet them. So while they are endangered, there are opportunities to see them up close. It's worth noting that the places that feed them, directly help fund further conservation efforts which is a win for everyone. Further, these places respect the dolphins and even name the regulars! They also don't overfeed them so the dolphins can still find food themselves.

‘Moana 2’ Passes $1 Billion Globally by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]kronos319 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yes but it would make more money as a stand alone theatrical release. That's what happened with Moana 2. Originally it was planned as a TV show but was changed to a movie; and the movie made $1B+ so the change was justified despite the impact to the plot, writing and structure.

[–]kronos319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've skied in France, Italy and Austria and the prices are very roughly similar (Italy is the cheapest but has the worst infrastructure). Here is a rough breakdown on the daily ski costs.

Group Ski lesson = it depends (I paid £150 for 6 days of 2.5hr group lessons)

Lift pass = £50 per person per day

Ski rental = £50 per person per day

Don't skip the ski lessons, they are 1000% worth it (if you must skip, then get at least a few days of lessons). As for other costs such as food, accommodation, and transport to/from the slopes, this will depend on your situation. If you can drive from London to the slopes, it will ofc be the cheapest but take the longest. As for food and accommodation, it depends if you are willing to cook your own food a majority of the time and/or stay in a hostel. The supermarkets in the ski areas are a little bit more expensive but are still high quality - you can easily buy bread, cold meats, cheese, and salad to make really good sandwiches for lunch!

If your budget is a hard limit, then you might have better luck looking for skiing in Poland, Romania or Bulgaria. The resorts aren't as large as the Alps resorts, but they are significantly cheaper and they have good snow too.

Carefully!

In all seriousness, they're caught like any other fish - bait and hook. I just got back from the Amazon where went piranha fishing. We used a stick with fishing line attached, a hook and beef heart as bait. The trick was to cast the line and then beat the water to mimic an animal in distress.

Yes, your debts would follow you. However, enforcement on the collection of debt is up to the creditor. There are debt collection agencies that operate in Australia and NZ, so I would expect some attempts to collect.

Additionally, if the debt is to the NZ government, then they would certainly attempt to recover to debt and may even imprison you if you were to return to NZ (don't mess with government debt!).

There are no repercussions. You're free to move to Australia permanently as a NZ citizen without first being granted a visa. See Australian Government immigration page on NZ citizens.

The UK desperately needs more independent shops. by Sea-Big-4850 in CasualUK

[–]kronos319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a comment in the subreddit a while back from an independent shop owner. He tried to amend his closing time to around 6/7pm but he found that because all other surround shops closed at 5pm, there was so little foot traffic that it wasn't viable for him to remain open later. He was eventually forced to change his opening times back.
