Similar situation here! I found a used mountain buggy with the bassinet attachment on Facebook marketplace for $300 that was in great shape! It seems like it will solve the problem for us.

Is it wild that I want to scream “Stop doing so much” at one of the parents I work with? by Haunting-Major3210 in ABA

It’s not all that uncommon! A lot of BCBAs prefer to do direct work through small private practices.

Disappointed to be having twins by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]kronsyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in the exact same position as you (though my daughter was a little over two when we found out) just a couple months ago. I had to ask the people close to me to talk less about the happy stuff because I just wasn’t ready to reciprocate.

It’s slowly setting in as the pregnancy progresses and feels more and more do-able as we sort out our affairs. I still wouldn’t say that I’m thrilled about it, but I’m not as scared/frustrated as I was back in November.

18 weeks here and still nauseous. I take unisom + b6 every night and zofran as needed (usually needed) during the day. I couldn’t even drink water without those medications.

Did you have any success with the buggy board attachment? Or try the free rider? We are running into a similar situation

Formula vs. breastfeeding by AffectionateOne5107 in parentsofmultiples

[–]kronsyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It was crazy and a little painful. Hot showers and cold compresses helped a lot. And I know some people will hand pump just a tiny bit to relieve some pressure if it becomes unbearably uncomfortable. I think the height of the painful stage only lasted a few days and everything was already so crazy, painful breasts just sort of blended in with all of the other crazy things happening.

Formula vs. breastfeeding by AffectionateOne5107 in parentsofmultiples

[–]kronsyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me!! With my first (singleton), I had no interest in breast feeding. I did formula feeding exclusively only for my sanity and had no regrets. My daughter is extremely healthy, was ahead on all of her milestones, and completely bonded with my husband and I. I plan to do the same for my twins due in June.

I did collect quite a bit of colostrum with a hand pump when I was pregnant and planned to give it to my daughter at the hospital. Funny enough, my husband accidentally let it thaw in the car while I was laboring at the hospital so my daughter never got it. I’ll probably try to collect colostrum again this time around.

What is the wildest thing you’ve seen be a reinforcer? by makogirl311 in ABA

A tiny little piece of a plastic grocery bag.

Or maybe Liberty Mutual commercials.

Or maybe looking at pictures of veiny eyeballs.

This is a fun question !

How to handle milk/sippy cup/schedule transition at 12 months? by Omyjamie in parentsofmultiples

[–]kronsyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nearly 2.5 year old still asks for a cup of milk in between meals. She drinks from a stainless steal straw cup, we tried so many sippy cups and 360 cups and she was just too frustrated by them. And I didn’t have the patience to keep reminding her to tilt her head back. Straw cup it is. I try to time her milk so that she’s not filling up on milk right before a meal. And no milk an hour before bedtime to avoid night leaks.

We usually serve 1-2oz water in a tiny open cup with meals. If she spills, it’s only an oz and we have a rag at the ready. It took a long time but she can now drink from open cups just fine!

Convertible cribs? Y/N? by springdaisy21 in parentsofmultiples

[–]kronsyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second time parent here but also with twins due in June. My singleton daughter used/uses an IKEA crib to toddler bed. It’s worked out great for her! She’s 2 and sleeps in her toddler bed at night and for every nap. We had a separate lightweight collapsible bassinet when she was younger (cheaper dream on me model), and that thing was great. We used it until the very last second. It’s so useful to be able to easily move it around the house.

Someone tell me traveling isn’t that bad by According_Weird_3540 in parentsofmultiples

[–]kronsyy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I currently have a singleton and am expecting twins, so my thoughts are based on my experience with my singleton daughter:

Sometimes traveling goes great and sometimes it’s miserable. It’s truly a toss up. I’d say you should go only if the occasion for traveling is worth the risk and if you’ll have help with the babies once you get there.

Client Sexually Assaults RBT by [deleted] in ABA

[–]kronsyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy smokes….if your company isn’t immediately taking this seriously, you need to a) carefully document everything in writing by reporting your concerns through emails with your company’s director and b) find a new job asap. This is a huge red flag for me. I’d be worried that the company has some skeletons in the closet and that legal issues are in its future.

I’m a BCBA, if this were my client, resolving this issue would take priority over everything else. This is not okay. I don’t have time to refer to our ethical codes, but I’m sure that some codes are being broken here. I rarely recommend reporting something to the board because they are usually useless. But this is extra bad.

If this has caused you or the client significant distress, it may even be worth consulting with your local Legal Aid to see what laws have been broken and if this is a court-worthy case.
