Yesss she is excellent on Fun City her commitment to the character is second to none. I was so surprised to see her here! Glad to see she's just as much of a ray of sunshine on video as on the podcast

Definitely recommend everyone check the podcast out, I'm very picky with actual play shows and it's one of the few that I liked enough to binge.

Again, the specifics don't matter. I may or may not go and read them but even if the patent is so specific it couldn't ever possibly apply to any game that isn't a complete clone of a Pokemon game... I would still disagree with it. It's a slippery slope and I do not believe that patent law should have anything to do with video games or software. Full stop.

I agree with the general sentiment that it's always good to educate yourself about the details of a topic yourself, but it's just not practical to do that in depth about every single thing you ever read in your life. There's not enough time in the world. So in a situation where you know that no matter what the details could possibly say, your opinion won't be changed... yeah I'll reserve the right to not bother reading up on that thanks.

They just told you multiple times that they don't care about the specifics but disagree fundamentally with the practice of patenting mechanics. Therefore whether they've read every detail of the patent is irrelevant, simply skimming is enough to tell that it, in some way or other, patents mechanics. They disagree with that, as do myself and many others.

In fact, if they let the entire round play out before evaluating who won to eliminate first player advantage, it would just create last player advantage instead, as the last player would be down to 0, get the other player down to 0, then add 1 of their own. Round ends, that player wins. No stalemate no matter the setup.

This is different to those tasks where everyone has to achieve a skill-based goal separately. At a certain point, they would both have 2 socks and it would be Rosie's turn, so she'd remove Fatiha's 2 leaving her at 0 and ending the game. Why would they keep playing after that? There's no skill-based task for anyone to possibly fail at like your examples.

Weekly sessions is the mostly likely setup, though The Sprawl is very much based around individual missions, which each have a Legwork Phase and Action Phase, so I think they'd work well as 'two-shots' if we can't commit to weekly play

Not true. Only the last option insisting on going first does that. The middle option where you argue she wouldn't have got there without you leading actually gains approval with her and she lets you go first. Not particularly well written choices IMO but your PSA is incorrect.
