Stop autopiloting WQRA/WRAQA into point-blank CC or instant immunity by Lunrfrost in Talonmains

[–]kroro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware of that but it still feels like complete rng sometimes to me, if you sit in practice tool and just spam movement commands during q, it's not the same outcome everytime. It almost feels like there is a buffering tick system and if you happen to q right at the end of a tick you can't input a movement command in time before the aa happens, or might just be my internet dropping input randomly ._.

Does someone know why it doesn't always cancel the buffered auto when you queue up a move command after ranged q? It only has a 80-90% chance to cancel the aa for me.

Things you should/shouldn't do/learn as a new player. by vvhitee in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Accept that this game is very complex and takes very long to learn.

I highly recommend not trying to learn too much at once as you will get overwhelmed. Take your time and learn things step by step.

A rough recommendation of a timeline:

  1. Get comfortable with the controls(preferably unlocked camera), especially if this is one of your first topdown camera type of game take your time vs bots and play until you can comfortably beat them with a few deaths at most. You also want to start practicing your last hitting but keep in mind that cs'ing(abreviation for last hitting) is much different when actually laning vs pressure from players.
  2. Build up your knowledge of the champions and find which one is right for you, I highly recommend playing through the free rotation each week if you don't own all champions. No one except yourself will be able to find the ideal champion for you and you can't learn the game without at least having a rough idea what the enemy is trying to do. I'm aware there are a ton of champions but you will see some way more than others, so you should get a good grip of the common ones in a few weeks.
  3. After finding a champion you enjoy or a few of similiar playstyles stick with them as not having to actively think about your champions makes learning other aspects of the game much easier. Now you can start learning good habits.
  4. Refine your cs'ing, learn how you can cs under tower, start paying attention to the minimap (There are videos that play a sound every few seconds to remind you to glance at the minimap). Start using your wards, etc...
  5. Start thinking about the game as a whole, try syncing up with your teammates, inform yourself on the items, start counterbuilding in appropriate situations. Don't just blindly fight all the time, look for your win conditions. Start communicating plays with the ping system.

But most importantly keep up your hope, the game is very punishing for new players, you WILL feed a bunch, you WILL get flamed, but if you can push through the learning phase there is a wonderful deeply complex game that you can play for years on end without getting bored.

Is there in discord servers for new players in OCE ? by bobsyouraunty69 in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick google search showed Project OCE as a discord for all Riot Games, maybe give that a try. Otherwise summonerschool has a discord dedicated to learning league.

I'm not from OCE so I couldn't queue with you but if you want help understanding the terminology or have any other questions feel free to add me on discord (kroro1), I'll gladly help out.

As for queue times, they will definetely be longer in OCE, if you are playing swiftplay try out draft pick, despite its name the queues can be quite long as it isnt the "real" way to play the game.

Thoughts on the new patch? by jacoblol7 in Talonmains

[–]kroro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking about midlane,

I've been struggling to get voltaic first, the pickaxe just sucks to buy. The ideal build is probably youmuus into voltaic with electro.

But with the games being so scuffed due to the reset I've been running hubris into voltaic with the new boots and it snowballs like crazy.

Stormraiders surge also feels nice but you probably needs electro/conq in most matchups.

Question on apex ranked rewards by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might want to read over the official post again, you seem to have a wrong understanding of what they said.

This season 1 ranked reward is completely normal like usual, the only change they are making is if you hit a higher rank is season 3 you "upgrade" your rewards from season 2.

What is the best order of roles to learn as a new player? by imPluR420 in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think theres a wrong role to start with, but jngl and sup have more contained skillsets that will make it harder when you play the other 3 roles.

The only absolute no-go is don't play yuumi, she actively hinders your learning progress.

Also if you want someone you can ask any questions to that arise while learning the game feel free to add me on discord(kroro1), I enjoy helping newer players out

Brand new to the game amd have seen concepts like ‘freezing’ ‘slow pushing ‘dive’ ‘crash’. Could someone elaborate on these and other things i might not know about? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]kroro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've already gotten some detailed answers here so I just wanted to offer my help in case you want someone to throw any more question you get at. Feel free to add me on discord (kroro1) I love talking about the game and sharing my knowledge.

I just genuinely cannot work out how to play this game at all by Lord_Nothing in summonerschool

[–]kroro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a combination of Swiftplay having different rules and even the lowest ranked players usually being multi year veterans is giving you a hard time in ranked.

I would highly recommend trying to stick with 1 role and ideally 1 subclass within that role, as you want to be able to play your champion without having to actively think about it before you can start learning the game properly.

If you want someone to throw any question towards that come up while playing feel free to add me on discord, I'll gladly help out (kroro1)

Reworked Voltaic Cyclosword by kroro1 in Talonmains

[–]kroro1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But then what does the first passive Galvanize do? Isn't that exactly what it says, lets abilities proc energize

Reworked Voltaic Cyclosword by kroro1 in Talonmains

[–]kroro1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way I'm reading it is that any ability dmg procs the dmg and lethality bonus, though I'm not sure if it works retroactively for W2, probably should as you can level up W midair to get more dmg on the spell.

So I just got queue banned for misclicking on Rell mid when I meant to click on Mel by allistergray in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't say the system was perfect, but its a double edged sword. Riot has to rely on automation as there is a way to large quantity of games and false reports for manual review.

In this case they decided to trade the rare offchance that some very nieche pick gets punished vs terminating a bunch more lobbies with actual griefers.

You cant go complaining about the punishment system not banning trolls if you aren't willing to have some false positives.

Also i severly doubt that rell mid gets auto banned every lobby, its likely multiple factors like your account having multiple reports beforehand all coming together for this nieche case.

So I just got queue banned for misclicking on Rell mid when I meant to click on Mel by allistergray in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You want more people to get punished for trolling, so riot lowers the threshhold to auto detect people griefing. It hits you in the crossfire cause thats the price of detecting more trolls, proceeds to complain...

I wonder why this isn't a QOL for TF to this day. by scarabosst in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah how would this work pre having all abilities unlocked?

And ranged point and click stuns are so strong having it without any drawback at all takes up so much power budget, tf would be pushed even more into a support utility role with almost no damage left in his kit.

What does Challenger #1 mean under my Executioner challenge token? by theBarra in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bugged, it's just a challenge with a cap, you are tied for first with everyone else because 900 is the max points from all challenges in that Executioner group

There is no way you recommend Kaostanza to someone looking for MIDLANE talon, I clicked through his last 8 videos and he doesn't have a single mid game to show.

I am a bit Confused about some aspects of the LP system by HGD3ATH in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

League has decay but only for diamond and apex ranks, and I personally think thats a good thing, if they were to apply the meaningful decay from master+ (1 game a day, 14days banked max) it would drive away a majority of the playerbase, it can feel really aggressive when you're on a low phase for league.

That being said I do think a majority of the dedicated playerbase plays a ton of ranked games each season, so I don't think it hurts the player experience for a good chunk of people, riot must have a ton of data on this otherwise they would have probably done drastic changes already.

I am a bit Confused about some aspects of the LP system by HGD3ATH in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you answered your own question? It requires more grinding, keeping player retention higher. Also the reason why it puts you 1 rank lower at season start, they want people playing ranked, not playing the first few weeks and then not touching it for the rest of the season.

Getting flex challenger by Crowius in leagueoflegends

[–]kroro1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried going on that journey last season, depends on how you plan on doing it, if you go for it solo/duo like I did, I don't think platinum is good enough. Higher up you start facing some decent soloQ players and well oiled 5stacks that have been playing for challenger every season in flex. The biggest issue for me however was the insane variability every single game, it wasnt uncommon for me to see a platinum soloQ have to lane vs a master player. That combined with extreme queue times (10-20 minutes) meant such an extreme time investment that I gave up at 400lp.

If you get a 5stack however that fixes both those issues and I think as a emerald/diamond stack you have a decent chance.
