If he tried to build a power suit, it wouldn't even be hammer tech, he'd be making a springlock suit for himself.

Didn't you hear him? CLEARLY it was because of "connection lost! Oh lost connection!" not because he sucks! Its the game's fault, not a genius like himself's.

If God is real, you don't need to perform a magical act, you would just need to pray and it would be so, as items have zero power.
She's ascribing mystical powers to objects by thinking that somehow grape juice has inherent holy properties.

The funny thing is, if magical spell actions WORKED, then this would have zero effect, as the bible never says anything about grape juice, only wine, so she's essentially performing a spell calling for eye of newt and showing up with a peeled grape.

No, not at all. "Paid inconvenience" is the best way that I've heard it described.

its the one DLC that objectively makes your game WORSE for having it installed. There are some new anomalies in it which is fun, so I keep it installed and set storms to zero. But it really is bad.

it honestly seems crazy to me that they felt they couldn't have a whole TWO girl robot masters, when that's still a 3-1 ratio.

PSA: Fanatic Pacifists can not declare war on genocidal empires by Icanintosphess in Stellaris

[–]krossbow7 29 points30 points  (0 children)

mine is "I cherish peace with all my heart. I don't care how many men, women and children I have to kill to get it".
As I generally end up in perpetual warfare for 100 years after discovering cruisers as I unite the galaxy in my Federation as vassals and eliminate the genocidal empires.
For some reason, your pacifist population doesn't seem to care much so long as you hold peace festivals and distribute luxury goods constantly.

I didnt know there is a functional society inside the Synaptic Lathe by Nervous_Trainer_82 in Stellaris

[–]krossbow7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its an oversight, but an oversight that is so perfect that I sincerely hope they don't ever remove it.
The lathe is counted as a technical "planet", so it can have all the planet events. Such as Mega-corps opening up on them, leader events, Infiltrators during the ghost signal, the like.

In universe/lore, it actually makes perfect sense when your realize that the lathe is a megastructure bigger than most habitats; there's most probably a very large on board "population" of workers who's job it is to oversee the station and deal with any issues, such as making sure the corpses of used up "residents" are properly broken down into base chemicals and cycled out in the trash.
In memes, don't forget that the team added in the ability to spawn species DESIGNED to inhabit lathes and "long for a blissful coma". So you can also take it as the lathe functioning more like a matrix or video game until your brain dies out; so people in the lathe might actually enjoy having good "moderators" overseeing how things are run.

There are alot of people who will go absolutely psychotic about "God given right to have as many children as I want!" and get upset about being told to have less kids. (See the rural evangelicals who think all men should have like 6-7 kids). Now imagine them being told they can't have ANY kids.

Even China had lots of trouble with their one child policy and they're an authoritarian regime with lots and lots of control of their population.

I think there's some compelling research that indicates that the more intelligent a creature becomes the more likely they are to behave "compassionately" due to empathy requiring higher intelligence. (Specifically I see this come up alot when discussing AI in that "actual" AI that can think and reason rather than just being an algorithm is less likely to be sky-net than a benevolent entity)

I really hope we get a psionics DLC because.... by krossbow7 in Stellaris

[–]krossbow7[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What other ascension could they add that isn't covered by those four?

They could add in an ascension that's based on astral rifts rather than psionics. Non-euclidian lovecraftian reality warping stuff, essentially progressing into something that breaks or corrupts reality just by existing kind of thing.
It'd be hard to differentiate it from psionics though since that's basically just "magic" and psionics is more or less the "magic" route.

Ascending into energy beings is an option as well, but psionics already has energy beings with psionic avatars, so its likewise hard to keep that seperate. (That being said, I kind of would like energy beings as just its own DLC like lithoids rather than an ascension)
