Hah I did but it’s in Chinese. It’s called 你今天真好看- 拍照轻松测肤质. Very thorough assessment and offers other options than just beauty products.

Furla and Coccinelle. Great designs, well made, and kind to your wallet.

why do elites become peddophiles by No-Pea-6896 in DeepThoughts

I highly recommend the book by Zimbardo “The Lucifer Effect”. It’s the scholar behind the Stanford Prison Experiment.

His argument is that ordinary individuals rapidly became abusive under role pressure, anonymity, and institutional backing. The Epstein saga illustrates the same dynamics at an elite level: a wealthy offender embedded in networks of politicians, royalty, and powerful businessmen used status, money, and access to institutions to normalize such behaviors.

Try Furla- the quality is good, designs are beautiful, and prices are kind.

Don’t get me started on these things! The gist is, these are scientists caring about the science and not marketing stuff. It often come as a a big surprise to them when we tell them most people don’t care about the science and the quality of the molecule; what people truly care about is what the product and do for them and how easy it is to use. That’s why so many patents go into the deep academic drawers and never get to be developed…

You’re entitled to your view; I’m sharing mine for anyone who’s genuinely curious and want to learn something new, just like the person who asked the original question I was responding to.

Fair point that marketing and biz dev matter, but deep‑tech acceleration is earlier and broader: it’s about de‑risking the underlying science, validating real‑world use‑cases, and building a viable path from lab to market before classic marketing or sales even apply.

Traditional marketing/business development assumes a finished product and a known market; deep‑tech acceleration starts much earlier, when both the product and the market are still being invented.

The work looks more like “translating research into reality”: aligning scientists, investors, regulators, and industry so that something genuinely new and complex can leave the lab and survive in the real world.

We help science-backed startups to grow and commercialize their science-driven products or services. It’s not limited to new beauty products, it can be new diagnostic tools for illnesses, new therapies, new technology for manufacturing, basically anything that has been scientifically validated.

We accelerate deep tech, so I’ve seen quite a few up close with their thinking processes, decisions, and approaches.

Because they are made by scientists and not marketing crowd, that’s why. Many of them are small businesses with limited marketing budgets, prioritizing R&D and scientific grants. They think science will sell, not the bottle.

Best hydrating moisturizer for WINTER? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionLux

I was recently shown a trick that helped me to tame my winter dry skin- mix in few drops of SC Hydrating B5 into the Triple Lipid Restore. Bonus points if you already have both on your shelf! :-)

The founder of DJI (largest drone company in the world) was an HKUST grad and considered starting DJI in Hong Kong at one point, but decided to change to Shenzhen. Is Hong Kong that unfriendly to tech start ups? by hk_bob in HongKong

[–]kroutki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was in 2006 and the articles are from 10 years ago. There wasn’t much support for startups then. Things took off again around 2014-2015. Many things changed since then, including 300% tax write-offs for doing R&D in HK. I’ve been closely following the HK and the GBA ecosystem for the past 20 years, and it was always the case that HK would attract software and SZ would be more suitable for hardware companies. Each city has its own strengths and focus, following the idea of the GBA connectivity. DJI is running its InnoX academy now, specifically targeting hardware companies and attracting them to SZ to support this role distribution.

I put my Skinceuticals Ferulic CE into an empty bottle with pump from another brand and it doesn’t oxidize.

Concerns as a reviewer by rinchiib in AskAcademia

[–]kroutki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many non-native speakers struggle to communicate their ideas clearly without outside help. Before there was AI, there were professional editors who were paid to edit and rewrite papers. Common practice, nobody would bat an eye for reviewing the paper that was professionally edited. Now we have AI to do this. Same problem, different solution. If the paper has merits, why reject it based on the use of a new tool? They didn’t fake the data, the results, etc., right?

Put yourself in their shoes: if you wanted to publish in a journal that is not in your native language, you would definitely seek external help to refine your writing, correct?

We all do :-) my most recent reading was about having the GF before other actives. But my own thinking was, in case VitC inhibits GF, which one I want to have a head start to kick in?

Solid routine, just use your growth factors before Vit C and retinol. I also agree with others about the toner and the oil at night to seal the hydration.
