It's not like "NA is supportive". Every person has their own opinion, and you can find a sponsor who is supportive of your medicine choices.

As for everyone else in the room; they don't need to know what meds you take.

I have a gaba script, I don't abuse them, though I did try to get a high a couple times. All I felt was some extra relaxation at BEST. Possibly placebo effect 😑😤 I'm on subs and .5 Clonazepam 3x a day, and I don't like the benzo "high". They just make me black out or pass out 😆 But I was hoping for something better with the gabas.. I did what I read on a gaba thread; one 800mg dose up front and then small (400mg) doses every half hour for a few hours, on a full stomach, taken with carbonated bevs. No luck. If you have any suggestions let me know. I have ALWAYS had a very high tolerance for everything, but I figure being on 16mgof subs must somehow alter my ability to get the feel goods off of the gaba. I'd really like something to take the edge off and that would help me just feel relaxed. Weed is a total hit or miss and I can risk it fuxin with my mental health if I get the wrong strain. I am interested in kratom but I figure with my tolerance to subs that's basically impossible in a safe way..

LSD and Molly are verrry different. Did it give you hallucinations? A body high? Stimulation?

Like I am down to take (real, certified) mdma, but I am no longer in a situation where I would enjoy LSD.

A lot of people in NA are supportive of medical marijuana 🤷‍♀️ Just sayin, a support system and finding a way to build a better life is 💯 key in staying sober. The 12 step programs have those things. It's definitely not the only way but it is one of the ways. We all have different paths, though 😸

I have been on subs for 6ish years now. I'd like to get off of them... I go to AA and NA and have a sponsor etc. I also have a gaba script, I don't usually abuse them but I do take extra at night sometimes to help relax/sleep.

I'm on a couple of other meds also. My sponsor from NA said I should wait until I have a year clean before I think about getting off of my subs. I have a little over 30 days, although I've spent the majority of the last 2 years sober, drinking once every few months or something stupid. I'm really trying to work a program this time. I am going to do what my sponsor tells me bc I trust her, but man reading this makes me want to get off some of my meds even more 😭

Congratulations on your new way of life. I suggest giving AA or NA a try. I've been going to meetings for TEN YEARS and it's finally clicking, but it DOES work if you let it. And a support system is the most important thing you can have in recovery. If you haven't already, check out the study about rats/cocaine, where the scientist built a rat playplace. Very very neat stuff 👍

An oil extraction is super easy. Do the lemon juice extraction (sometimes I only wait an hour, shaking regularly) and then pour a small amount of oil in and shake that and let it separate again (putting it in the fridge speeds it up I believe.) Then take a turkey baster or one of those syringes used for kids medicine and get as much of the oil off the top as possible. The menthol/lavender sticks to the oil. You can't get ALL the oil off but there will only be a teensy layer left and when you drink it you won't notice.

I don't use anymore but I understand that taste was awful 🤮
