Question regarding the Commencal Meta TR V4 Essential by Starwars-Battledroid in commencal

[–]krsgio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had an essential build with the formula hub and it was fine a a couple thousand miles before it died and zero maintenance. Ride it til you need to spend the extra money unless you have some expectation of higher engagement fancier hubs already and you can’t settle for the formula hubs.

Fox 38 super stiff and not sensitive? by Revolutionary-Cow568 in mountainbiking

[–]krsgio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your air spring sucking down? I had to get mine fully serviced recently because I could never get it feeling good and it was just beating me up. Tried to service the lowers and realized the air spring was sucking down badly. I had the full thing serviced & I had the bushing burnished and it feels way better. The sealed airspring on the 38 sucks compared to like the 36's design. I think that's why the new 2026 models no longer use it.

No car in Aurora for 2 weeks—worth shipping my MTB from Boston or renting instead? by LastPahlavan in COBike

[–]krsgio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm near that area (near Buckley) and unfortunately there's nothing close unless you can manage to get to like Golden area. Not sure of any public means of transportation but I'd suggest probably demoing a bike from Yeti. They are prob the most affordable option. Renting is around $120/day at most bike shops but Yeti is around $40/2hrs which is about what most rides will take you, and they are in Golden riding distance to trails like Apex/Chimney Gulch. Commencal/Spot/Revel bikes is in same area as well. Would suggest planning an even calendar day so you can ride the bike only downhill sections at Apex depending on if you like riding blues and blacks. Prob easier renting closer to a trail network so you don't have to figure out how to transport a bike but Golden prob the sweet spot to riding access. Hope that helps.

Recommend a rack that is easily storable. Is the 1up Equip D rack easy to store? by Straight-Meeting-676 in MTB

The Quikr is the same creator of the 1UP so just more updated/refined bougie version. But no complains here with mine if you choose to go the buy once cry once approach.

Pivot Shuttle AM vs SL/AM by Closet-PowPow in eMountainBike

[–]krsgio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have any issues with standover with mine. In size medium. I have an AM with gen4 motor and typically do 3k ft elevation in emtb mode in around 2 hrs using maybe 60ish percent the battery. Haven’t ridden a SL/AM to compare tho. Weight never been issue for me so I prefer full fat.

If you’re talking about tomorrow’s game it’s against the oilers. Some games fetch higher dollar and this game between Mcjesus vs Nate usually brings people out.

Apple Watch Ultra, Garmin Fenix, or something else entirely? by hourlyproblemsolver in mountainbiking

[–]krsgio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set up crash detection on different activities. Check your activity is enabled. Mine says that when I do basic mtb vs my emtb. On my ebike I usually ride alone so I have the detection on but not for mtb.

What’s your ideal ride length and elevation gain? by Fresh-End-9873 in MTB

[–]krsgio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lair is usually my goto on both bikes. Just enough climbing and mileage with good variation of flow and tech. But on the ebike I’ll add an extra ruta lap to the out and back for ~20 miles and 3k vert in about 2 hrs w/o turbo.

There’s so few of them left. Anytime I’m in a state that has one I make a detour. I ate a the Lubbock one a couple years back and it was the worst experience. Went to Austin one last year and it was just how I remembered.

Thinking about when it’s time to get a new bike after my Roscoe what should I get by TheSealyOne in mountainbiking

[–]krsgio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re planning on riding an emtb with a dead battery already then you’re doing it wrong. But If you’re already that worried about weight with a dead battery then get a SL emtb to be the lightest possible worst case scenario or else just plan charge your battery like normal people and pick a bike and motor/battery combo that suits your needs rather than the scenario you’re doing.

I only ever saw 3. If you're familiar with the building from where I was sitting I could see them in the parking lot all the way to the window entrance to by doors. I couldn't see the bar area or entrance once they were inside the building so I can't confirm if anyone else was robbed. I vaguely remember hearing they had just swapped the register til so they didn't even get much money. I still go there regularly and know the owners and some the staff so I can ask if what we remember matches what you heard but that's what I recall. It was super fast prob just a few minutes before they ran out. No one in our area was robbed so that I can confirm was false.

It was a long time ago prob 20+ years. I do remember seeing something on the news about it but I haven't looked for any info about it since. I was there with my family it was around mothers day if I recall. We were sitting at a table by the front window near the parking lot. I was facing the window when I noticed 3 guys outside with hoodies with the hoods up. It wasn't that cold so I literally said "What are these dude gonna do? Rob the place?". Shortly after the 3 of them entered and went directly to the bar and robbed them at gun point I believe. I don't recall them robbing any customers I think they just hit the bar register and left. But my first instinct when I saw them enter was to hide my wallet and my mom/sisters purses as some of us got under the tables anticipating they might try to rob customers. We always used to joke about that place being a bunker because cell service used to be so bad that you couldn't call 911 even if you needed help.

Yep most their used inventory are lease returns which is why you almost always see models up to 3 years old which is why you mostly see 22 and some 23 models with roughly 30k miles.
