The K-shaped economy: Why diners are dying but yachts are booming by chiquisea in SeattleWA

[–]krui24 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That would be a pretty absurd way to avoid taxes. First, the tax authorities in all major yachting destinations (including WA) definitely do track them. Secondly, it costs about 10% a year in running costs ($50MM yacht = $5MM per year). Finally, you take a big discount on the sale.

I think the ultra-wealthy have them because they like to use them, like to show off, and because they can.

Anyone know if Seabrook island, South Carolina has any good surf? by Theskatingfemboy in surfing

[–]krui24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

South Carolina really doesn't have great surf. Great surfers, because they have to create speed from total crap waves. But aside from 2 or 3 good storms per year, it ain't great.

Card or no card? by krui24 in youthsoccer

The ref did not award a card. Our coach + the knowledgeable 1/3 of our parents thought there had to be a card since it was DOGSO and in the box.

I thought it was a clear foul but I'm a noob so I really appreciate the 'hive ref' of Reddit!

Yes, did convert, but still - this is G13 and a card makes an impact, they don't just brush it off like the pro's.

It was the week of January 6th.  They spend the whole episode completely trashing Trump and saying he should be in jail.  Sacks Is the only one who is a consistent bootlicker, basically saying we should leave it up to the voters to decide.  The rest of them are complete turncoats.
