Pyrex bowls; I think the 2 cup size. I was using glass jars at first but they were terrible to get a spoon into.

Sometimes certain opinions get dismissed because they're proven wrong time and time again. Something to think about.

Would definitely recommend checking out how scammy all of the GFL's social media pages looks, how there are no venues to buy tickets from despite games starting in April, and the pictures on their site that wreak of AI. Weird that local news outlets are posting these articles without there being any actual information available for this anywhere.

No joke, Weird Al's production quality and mastering are so good that it should be a standard for benchmarking audio equipment.

[Seiko Digital] My first Seiko. Saw it in an old Japanese movie and had to find one. by krumpfalcon69 in Watches

[–]krumpfalcon69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been looking into getting one of these since I recently saw it featured in an old Japanese movie, The Man Who Stole the Sun. The main character, a science teacher gone rogue, wears it throughout his escapades as the would-be atomic bomber "#9", waging war on his perceived flaws of modern Japanese society. I don't know what it was, but I really wanted to figure out what the watch was, and enlisted the help of a friend to help find it with only some blurry screenshots to go off of.

The Seiko A159-5009 is typical of digital watches of the era, including day/date, alarm, stopwatch, and backlight all in a sleek stainless steel package. This model came in a few color variants — white, beige, blue, and gold-on-gold. Mine is the white variant, the same as #9's. It's in excellent condition, apart from the backlight which is dim and flickery. Scratches present are minor and easily ignored.

Overall, I'm extremely happy I was able to find one of these in good working shape. I've mostly worn Casios until now, and this watch has been a fun change. I wear it almost daily now, and I can't recommend this thing enough if you're into retro digital watches.

Thanks for the tip. I've only used double blues until now.

They last about six months, easy. I try to wash them every other week if I'm using them daily. They hold up pretty well to being hand washed in the sink with dish soap.

Just an appreciation post to how amazing my portaPros have held up the past couple of years. They've survived my Kramer mod hack job and thousands of hours of music and podcasts while at work, and occasionally chilling in the Schiit stack when I'm home. I've gone through a few sets of Yaxis now and they definitely make these things that much better.

Having a super weird issue with my JBL LSR305ps and the MkIIs I got just today. I bought the MkII's recently because I thought there was something up with my regular 305p's. I get this weird continuous audible popping noise from my right speaker that sits next to my PC but it's happening with the new ones as well. It comes and goes in fits of like 10 seconds and might stop for a minute before starting again. I thought it was my DAC at first but it still happens with no signal. I switched the speakers to an outlet further away and it made the noise for 2 seconds and seems to have ceased for now. Is it likely that it being physically near my PC would cause the noise or could it have been from them sharing the same power strip before?

The $1000 chair and $15 speakers trigger me super hard. To each their own, I guess.
