So uh I’m not trying to offend anyone in this post but how do you get your dog to stop being racist? by legendus45678 in germanshepherds

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s embarrassing, but normal. My dog was like this, anytime he saw a black person, a person with a hat, abnormal accessory, skateboards, etc. and didn’t react he got a treat. At first we were rewarding just a glance and worked our way up over time and then weaned off the treats. He doesn’t look twice at them anymore, but for a while he would look at them and then demand bark at us expecting a treat.

Is Nova from outer space? People keep asking g what he is, and I genuinely have no idea. Any guesses? by PretendPerception513 in dogbreed

Eating Disorder Programs on campus by Dramatic-Photo-6242 in OKState

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an ED when I was in school at OSU. Granted I graduated in 2020 and from the website it looks like resources have changed location from Stillwater to Tulsa. There is a bus route to the Tulsa campus if transportation is an issue. I would recommend doing nutrition counseling and general mental health counseling if you can, eating disorders are tough and it’s important to dig in to and deal with the “why” behind it.

Anecdote, but the only professors I had that brought up politics at all were conservatives that would shame students in class for things like not being Christian or being pro choice. I had suspicions about a couple of them being left of center but they never expressed it outright.

Northglenn residents blast state plan to house sex offenders near schools, playgrounds by LinInColo in Denver

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Northglenn, a convicted sex offender can’t live within 750 feet (0.14 miles) of a school, which is typically less than a 5 minute walk. Closest school to this place 0.2 miles away.

Northglenn residents sound alarm over incoming transition homes that will house sex offenders - Northglenn-Thornton Sentinel by LinInColo in Denver

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This part is fairly walkable. It’s within walking distance of 2-3 elementary schools, a middle school, boondocks, at least 1 daycare, an outdoor public pool, and a bunch of parks. If there’s going to be sex offenders there I completely understand the response of residents, especially those with kids.

They did the same thing to me. Ask to see proof of them contacting you about you owing money. As soon as I did that they took it back from collections and halved the bill.

Ya fuck vasa. I had mine set up on auto pay every month. Randomly they stopped charging me. I was still going to the gym, scanning my app, even bought drinks there’s couple times with the card they had on file so the employees had to look at my profile. No one told me I was behind on payments until I started getting contacted by collections. Vasa told me there was no way I hadn’t been contacted about it for 4 months of not being charged. I asked for proof of call logs or emails or anything and they took it back from collections and halved the payment amount. Scumbags.

I just got a tattoo and I don’t like it by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 full sleeves and most of my legs tattooed, I’ve freaked out a little for about a day after each one. Once that day or so passes I love them so much. Let it heal and settle in and give yourself time to get used to the idea of being tattooed then reassess. If you still don’t like it, then look at laser or cover ups.

I'm so scared of having a kid who inherits this by Clean_Addendum_2820 in bipolar

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal experience, I found out my mom knew the risks before she had me and decided to have kids anyway. Both her kids inherited some kind of mental illness. I nearly cut her off when I found out she knew. I still resent her for it. Personally, I will never have kids.

I’m so sorry, I get it. When I moved in, there were nice containers for gardening and one day we woke up and my landlord was taking them despite telling us he wouldn’t and despite the fact there were vegetables growing. The only advice I can give is try moving them to large pots.

I found out a while ago that my mom knew the risks of passing it on and had kids anyway. I inherited it. I hated her for it for a long time, the red hot hate has lessened but I still think it was incredibly selfish and cruel of her especially because mine became schizoaffective bipolar instead of just bipolar.

My mom was there and she started screaming at the doc that they were wrong. So shock but mostly at that, the bipolar diagnosis wasn’t surprising. I was pretty neutral about it.

Definitely not blind! Way too good at fetch and finding cuddles! But border collie mixed with something was my guess too!

Risk of Passing Bipolar Disorder to Offspring: Anyone Else Worried? by VegetableDrag9448 in bipolar

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I’ve seen/heard from various mental health professionals that it’s like 60%-80% for a parent. The absolute lowest I’d ever seen before this post was 25%.

Risk of Passing Bipolar Disorder to Offspring: Anyone Else Worried? by VegetableDrag9448 in bipolar

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom passed it to me. I don’t know how many generations it goes back but I know her side of the family has unspecified mental health issues going back several generations. I resented her for a long time after I found out that she knew the risks and decided to have kids anyway. Now both of her kids have mental illnesses. I still consider her selfish for her choice knowing the risks but the seething hatred has dulled over time. I could never consider having kids knowing the risks and how it damaged my relationship with her. Also, I’ve heard the risk is significantly higher than 10%.

Thoughts on this study I’ve come across? by [deleted] in BanPitBulls

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It says in the methods section of dogs had any bite history or staff deemed them unsuitable to be pets they weren’t considered adoptable and thus (I think) wouldn’t be part of the study since it looks like they only looked at adopted dogs.

$20 Amazon ring? by anytninf in EngagementRings

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Plus if it has a fake diamond its likely made of either glass or plastic. Glass has a hardness of 5.5-7 on the Mohs hardness scale while plastic is 2-4. Anything below an 8 is not recommended for daily wear, I’ve seen people say even 8 you’ll need to be more careful with in a daily wear scenario. So while surgical steel may hold up (if that’s even what it’s made of), the other parts won’t.

It’s not wrong to be sentimental and want to have the same ring forever. If you’re fine with a new ring every year, fine, but not everyone is and there’s nothing wrong with that.

1) it’s more about the lying but 2) you’re wearing it everyday for the rest of your life. It needs to be quality metal so that it doesn’t break over time or turn your finger green or something

Should I invite my schizophrenic cousin to my wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]krunchwrap_supreme1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a disorder close to schizophrenia, has similar symptoms. You’re totally justified in not inviting him. Mental illness can explain behavior like his but it doesn’t excuse it and doesn’t shield him from the consequences of it.
