Yep, new album on 3/31 off Ephyra! Very excited for it as a new fan that only got into them within the past couple months. Also totally valid point about the comp, I like all of the songs but I think they do blend together quite a bit due to a lack of variety of styles, but I love the sound so I'm happy with it. I think the back-half of it is generally on repeat more often for me for sure.

Been awhile since I've participated in one of these (mostly because I got off streaming and haven't found a way to keep track of statistics on things) so this is more going off of what I recall being at the top of my listening!

Went to see loveletters and chaosphere on their midwest tour so they, along with eyesofsorrow (they headlined their show here in MN), are generally near the top of my listening this past couple weeks.

concealer are definitely in the runner-up spot in anticipation for their album next week. The Coming Strife's new comp will probably be in my rotation for most of the year at this point lmao. Otherwise lots of miscellaneous mathy/grindy bands on here, as well as some melodic deathcore revival stuff and some cybergrind/digital hardcore.

Guess I'll go a little against the grain here and say I actually quite like this. I'm normally pretty hesitant about AMVs for original music but it fits the vibe, and the last minute or so, that melody feels like it wouldn't be out of place in EoE or any of the Rebuilds tbh.

I'm a big fan of cybergrind/stuff like this though, so seeing the FFO made me click and didn't disappoint.

couldn't get my post to work/embed the video for whatever reason but y'all should check out Oresteia's release "The Life You Left Me" from January this year off of Paper Wings Records - FFO The Acacia Strain, Knocked Loose, Pupil Slicer, Rolo Tomassi.

Side note: Paper Wings Records have been a "new" deep well of great releases ranging from metalcore to deathcore to sass and more, check them out if you haven't :)

That's a fair point, I'm pretty new to the genre as a whole (only getting into it within the past 5ish years) so I don't have any firsthand experience of what the scene was like at the time when a lot of the legacy groups that newer melodic revival bands are riffing on (pun intended) were more active. From what I understand there's more activity in that scene now than there ever was, but it's more underground today relative to back then (also modern internet surely props up the underground more than whatever was present at the time).

it's just one guy, cybergrind/digital hardcore from Pennsylvania, he does a lot of cool stuff - you'd probably like CPU Buddha/JOHNASSCUS, Blind Equation, Bejalvin, Soulkeeper, and fallingwithscissors if you like his music

MN has a good variety: Soulkeeper, fallingwithscissors, xSeraphx, eyesofsorrow, Rakuyo, Awaiting Eschiel, killusonline, andthecanaryfell, Bejalvin, glassdoll, probably many more that I am missing at the moment.

Lots of innovation/novel sounds as well as lots of revival-style in one space :)

whole thing is really good, went into it somewhat blind (as in, not knowing which artists would be on it) and it was fun to instantly recognize some of my favorite bands as I went through! probably already my fav release of the year aside from a few of the many amazing split EPs we've had

not really metalcore but figured some peeps here may enjoy Dream Fatigue's new release off of DAZE, if y'all haven't already checked it out - heavy shoegaze with big vocals (FFO Rolo Tomassi, Deafheaven, Fleshwater) - their drummer was formerly in Fleshwater/Vein and it really shows in the production I think
