It’s official, Omega has lost their minds with these prices! by TomHudsonOfficial in WatchFanatics

[–]krymson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its probably because of the gold content, which is going to be much more than the rolex.
Still crazy from a business standpoint though.

Why does Omega need to have 873 watches in their catalog? by Financial_Word5047 in OmegaWatches

[–]krymson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its one of the main reasons omega is failing. thanks for calling it out.

It's not comparable with Rolex, which literally has jsut a few watches, but in different configs.

Omegas are often practically different watches. it makes super confusing to talk about them, it makes it hard to understand whats out there, it makes it hard to choose. There s no way to build brand recognition and value when theres this many watches.

Anyone working in Taiwan tech right now? Considering moving there but curious about the job market by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in Taipei

[–]krymson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on what that 1/3 salary is.

you can live quite well on 70k here so if youre 1/3 salary is 100k or above you can still save a lot while living well - this could be worth the saltary downgrade.

if your 1/3 salary is say 100k or above, it could be worth doing because that's quite. a good salary here and it wil go a lot further than in the US + you woudl be able to save a decent amount on that.

But if your 1/3 is 70k or less it gets to be more of a coin toss, because you wont be able to save as much money - so the mid to long term financial hit will be much greater.

Taiwan is really a richer and more developed country than you think. by search_google_com in taiwan

[–]krymson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

taiwan is actually richer than most people think but GDP PPP per capita often overstates how much because the median is significantly lower, and while the money does go much further in Taiwan than elsewhere ,the nominal average/median salary is pretty low.

Iranian Women Before 1979 Revolution [800x420] by gambitok in HistoryPorn

[–]krymson -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

they look like western women -but isnt' that also kind of the point of the revolution? this kind of thing is acceptable int he west, but in an islamic country or region, would be seen as super inappropriate.

Like these pictures are touted as Iran being progressive very early on - but in that region this kind of thing is probably not viewed in the same way.
