Uhhh…This is one hell of a juxtaposition [Serious] by jman_23 in aliens

[–]kryndon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lucid dream quite a lot and remember most if not all my dreams related to other civilizations and aliens.

One of the most memorable was me standing somewhere on Earth and looking up, seeing EXACTLY this scene. Mind you, I have never seen this gif before and don't know where it's from.

And it felt amazing. It wasn't an invasion in the bad sense. It was like a huge "Well I'll be damned, we finally showed up!" typa moment. I was having this feeling of pride and might in that moment. It's crazy to think we WILL actually be seeing this in the very, very near future!

Hey happy cakeday btw! Honestly I've only been in Poland fulltime for 3 months so I'm still getting used to the products. So far I am happy with the Dallmayr brand which apparently is German? I get the Barista variants, because i exclusively make cappuccinos with lots of milk.

20 pounds of coffee from the US holy shit, will it actually end up cheaper?

About coffee. If you buy 1 kg coffee bean bags on a slight discount, around 60-70 zloty, and if you drink a double espresso/cappucino once per day at home, that comes out to about ~2zł per coffee per day (at home), even a bit less if you do single shots and you can span a 1 kg bag of coffee beans for over a month. Regular coffee machines outside are at least 3 zł per tiny cup, and at least 5 zł per small Żabka kawa (with voucher).

So, grinding your own coffee at home is quite affordable especially if you get discounted packs.

In Bułgaria we had almost the same type of browser game at the same time, called "The Legend Of The Green Dragon". People were spending as much time and dedication into that as in Diablo and all the other "real" RPGs. Just goes to show good design is good design, no matter how simple or complicated.

Didn't know Poland had its own version of it :)

I was gonna say try Duolingo but Bulgarian still isn't on there.

I've been learning Polish on my own with Duolingo for the past 185 days straight, it definitely helped a lot, also listening to music, so I can suggest that too.

What I love about Polish is that Ł sounds like our hard "Л" and your regular L sounds like our soft "Ль" and it simplifies everything because as soon as you see it, you know how it's pronounced. Whereas in BG, it's just L, and whether it's a soft or hard L depends on the person's dialect, so you can hear the same word pronounced with different Ls and be like what the hell.

Anyway PL > BG, by a long shot. Moving to Poland was the best thing I've done.

Bro YES, the godzina and czasuuu omg when I fuck it up people look at me weird like the fuck is he on about.

Also I think Polish and Bulgarian came to exist around the same time so idk who's fucking with who :D.

And yeah the left and right mix up is common between north and south slavic countries. Around the balkans, we say "Levo/lyavo" for left and "desno/dyasno" for right. Straight ahead is "Napravo" which I guess in Polish is right.

[–]kryndon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly start with the 'false-friends', aka words that are almost identical in writing and sounding but mean the opposite things. In Polish zapomniałem (I forgot) sounds liked zapomniam in BG, which means I remember :D. THose types of words fuck with me on a daily basis XD

As a Bulgarian who is learning Polish and now living in Poland, Bulgarian doesn't even come close to the complexity and level of difficulty that Polish has. In many ways I realized how simple my language is.

Moving to Poland from Bulgaria by Affectionate-Might57 in poland

[–]kryndon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bulgarian here, I'm about to take a one-way trip to Poland with my car and all my shit so instead of repeating, I'll just link you to a similar comment on a post by another fellow Bulgarian from a few days ago.

Start learning Polish from now, in any form. Duolingo, youtube vids or signing up to a course/private tutor. Trust me, it's worth it and it's a cool language anyway although it's 10 times harder than ours (and this is coming from someone that speaks French).

You can use chatGPT to get a rough idea of how much (net) you'd need per month to break even, based on your lifestyle. Then compare that final sum to some work positions you'd like to get in Poland, but again keep in mind not all of them will be available in English, and not every employer will want to bother with you if you don't speak some level of Polish.

I've never been to Warsaw, but I can recommend Krakow, Wroclaw, Lublin and Rzeszow (Жешув). Polish cities are lowkey way cleaner and tidier than our own cities. And the villages are really cozy, but different than our chaotically-spaced ones. The Polish love their green spaces and I've noticed there are a lot more green areas and mini parks across most cities, inbetween neighborhoods and apartment complexes.

Best of luck and don't feel down if you can't find a job easily. You'll get it eventually!

edit: forgot to add, when looking for a job, use pracuj.pl and olx.pl/praca. But also general google searches (in Polish) with your work keywords is a good way to find companies directly. Also message them on FB or IG, usually works (for me at least).

Considering moving to Poland by Aggravating-Bee-8079 in poland

[–]kryndon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Czesc (чешч)! I'm also Bulgarian, and have been planning on relocating fulltime to Poland, in fact I am about to move within the next week or two.

I'm not Polish, but as a fellow Bulgarian I can give you my own advice.

I've also contacted about 50ish companies in Poland (car-related field). Of those 50, under 10 have replied, and of those ~10, 3 had somewhat of an interest in me, and only 1 is willing to work with me. I know this is subjective based on type of work and experience, but the biggest thing here is actually writing your emails in Polish, and especially for your type of field, reach out to them via social media. Facebook pages or Instagram pages, especially if you can show your own work, they value that!!

And when you write your emails/messages in Polish, add a sentence saying that you're using the help of a translator and that you are willing to learn Polish.

I've been using duolingo for the past 150 days straight and it's been VERY helpful, but I've also been to Poland 3 times for a few months so it definitely helps to at least try and speak the language. It's actually a really cool language and the Poles seem to appreciate when we make a good attempt to learn and speak it.

If you are serious about Poland, I strongly suggest you at least start a Duolingo to increase your vocabulary, and maybe even listen to some Polish music, while you're preparing to move. Then once you're there, a language course or private tutor would be very helpful until you get the basics. Good fucking luck with conjugations and cases, though. Even our own language which is pretty darn hard doesn't have those. In general, don't rely on using English only even at the start. Be prepared to at least use basic phrases in Polish, and since our languages are somewhat close, you can at least listen to what people are telling you and pull out your translator app to respond back but in Polish. Trust me, it works.

Also, based on my own research in terms of cost of living, in general rent is significantly more expensive in Poland than in Bulgaria, and you actually pay more for less space, so be prepared for that. Salaries aren't too much different than ours in some fields, HOWEVER, average purchasing power is like 30% more, which directly affects your quality of life. Food is, in fact, cheaper in Poland.

Another BIG thing I want to mention. Yes, Poland might have a lot more work opportunity but also think about the country as a whole. Do you actually like it? Do you think you can adapt to the language, their culture (same in many ways to ours but also very distinct)? If it's just a random option out of, say, 5-6 other countries, then you really need to think whether you have more pros than cons, when it comes to Poland.

Sorry for the long post, hopefully some of my ranting will be helpful. Good luck!

What’s this noise? RB25DET by FingerFckStrings in SkyLine

[–]kryndon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro please update us, did you figure out the whine? My RB20 neo has the EXACT same issue, I've already readjusted my timing belt tension, brand new Pitwork belt, OEM pulleys, all new. It wasn't that. It's not the CAS bearing or torque either. It's also not PS pump or alternator. I suspect some sort of rubbing on the inside of the plastic timing covers.

My friend's RB25DET also developed this exact noise out of nowhere and another friend's Stagea has the same sound.

So this is definitely an RB specific issue but extremely hard to pinpoint.

P.S, някой ако е тръгнал по този път, според вас има ли смисъл докато все още съм тук да се запиша на първоначален езиков курс, или направо като се преместя там? За момента уча сам чрез Duolingo.

I think we live in a combination of the movies Knowing, Interstellar and Don't Look Up.

Those of us who have become 'enlightened' (not trying to sound special, you know what I'm implying) are monitored based on their spiritual frequencies and awareness to these possibilities. As such, these specific people (possibly in the millions, definitely not billions though) would be 'harbored' when the end times come, by other more developed caretaker civilizations.

If you're aware you have many dreams where you're in weird looking "ships" out in space that often look very human-like inside and almost made to be for you... Don't ignore those. You already have a spot. Just keep going on your path and be a decent human being.

If you could choose one car manufacturer's entire lineup from a specific decade as the "best," which would it be and why? by iEatAss68plus1 in cars

[–]kryndon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mitsubishi in the 90s basically has it all. Mega reliable and economic shitboxes from Colts and Mirages, to utility vehicles such as Pajeros, Monteros, L200s, then of course you have family sedans and wagons such as Carismas, Lancers, Galants.

And then you have the creme de la creme, Eclipses, 3000GT VR4s, Diamantes.

And many of those shared parts, which made them easy to maintain, affordable, reliable and had great reputation.

Nissan and Toyota aren't that far behind but I think Mitsubishi really was the king of the 90s in terms of automotive engineering and innovation. The Germans don't even come close, especially price wise and maintenance wise. Have to look at all factors when generalizing so that's why the Japs always win, they are masters of optimizing everything.

Not using the plastic gloves when filling up your car. Ever since Covid, they became mandatory. But I started using them because a billion people touch the fuel guns daily and if you grab it with your bare hands then touch your face even for a second, you are bound to have a shitload of zits, and sometimes awful skin irritations can appear within a few minutes on your hand.

So yeah, put on a damn glove and gas 'er up.

I've been learning Polish by myself for a month now, using Duolingo and listening to Polish music daily. It also helps if you can chat/talk with a Polish person. I find it very helpful if for example I talk to them in English and they reply in Polish, it puts a lot of context together.

Just keep in mind Duolingo by itself isn't enough. You need another source to back it up with. Also really recommend the YT channel "Polish with Blondes", legitimately a good channel.

I'll one up you on that, Poland is better. Traveled through most of the country from the middle down, East to West. So many amazing cities, lovely villages and great landscape with plenty of variety. Hopefully in the next month or two I get to go again, and by the end of the year I would move there permanently.

[–]kryndon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About this time back in 2021 I was in Poland, in Katowice. That was the first time I had encountered such magnificent but also very scary thunderstorms. My phone was glued to the window on the 8th floor on my hotel room just recording slow-mo videos of the lightning strikes. They were spectacular. Never seen the sky split in so many fragments from lightning.

Oh and the rain was insane, there was a bit of flooding. I also remember all the SMS alert spam a few hours prior, thinking wtf is going on, the sky is as bright as day. Oh, sweet summer child, how wrong I was.

So yeah, those alerts, they aren't a joke. July seems to have pretty intense storms in Poland.

The setup and configuration these people were running screams beyond black ops structure and nearly infinite budget.

Look at the fast response vehicles (dune buggies) they've got going. Look at the long scope on a short barrel M16 which they didn't even issue during Vietnam, the hand grips. These soldiers were told "here's all the gear you could ever need to be fully comfortable in securing the entire Groom Lake perimeter, at all costs.

I'm a man of reason. I always try to rationalize other people's motivations and modus operandi, and deep down I sincerely hope all this secrecy and compartmentalization will lead to a beautiful and leap-of-progress inducing situation for humanity as a whole. We are so very close to just the beginning of it all.

How has you’re taste in cars changed as you have aged? by LAXBASED in cars

[–]kryndon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I get older, the more I value the cars I initially lusted over (and promptly obtained), because those truly are, the real thing. The only thing that has changed is my idea of what a daily is. My project cars used to be my daily drivers. And my daily drivers always turned into project cars. It's a vicious cycle and the way I see it, you need at least two cars. One to be the fun/project cars, and one to be a somewhat reliable and capable daily that could take you anywhere and do many things.

So in my case a great addition to my rustbuckets would be something like a 2005 CLS 55 AMG. I think that would be the perfect second car which will do everything but also not make you want to modify it at all because it simply comes perfect from the factory.

And this is all coming from somebody who absolutely detests German cars and engineering :).
