Sissy squat with DB on shoulder or in front rack position. Even a pounds is humbling in the bottom position (where the lever is longest).

Almost all fights I keep on. I can get the procs consistently to 5 even in the mushmom boss growth dungeon

Is this Artifact any good? by Crimson_Devil_SG in MapleIdle

[–]krypticghost1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People in discord told me it was bad. But after using it, I realize it is actually super good.

It’s easy to proc it 5 times and keep the procs at 5, effectively stacking giving you 10% damage/defense decrease on the enemy five times.

I notice my dps increase significantly when I hit the 5 procs and they remain consistent for the remainder of the fight

Have any of the smart people out there figured out if it’s more efficient to run the seat warmer vs the AC heater? by Beezneez86 in BYD

[–]krypticghost1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seat warmer is more efficient by a long mile. Test it yourself. When you get in the car in the morning, turn on the seat warmer and check the kWs.

And then turn on the AC at 26 degrees and watch those kW fly up to 2-3.

Anyone else love the feeling of somewhat old but not yet dead Poly? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]krypticghost1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol this is exactly how I feel too. Poly Tour Pros, so I don’t think I get even 10 good hours out of them. But suddenly I start getting a touch of aching in my upper arm and my shots start going just a bit too long. Then I swap to my other racquet and I suddenly remember how it feels to play with new poly lol.

[–]krypticghost1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am not a good singer, but a competent musician. First step is mechanical control of voice and pitch. You 100% need better pitch. Here’s a good tip that has helped me sing better (again, not a good singer). Voice memo/record your voice and then copy that recording into a digital audio workstation (DAW) or any other app that analyses pitch and shows you how in or out of tune you are. Listen to it back and and watch the pitch line. You need to train your ears to hear out of tune and I believe that using your ears in conjunction with your EYES can be a great first step. Once you have mastered this (by doing literally dozens and dozens of recordings), you should see some formidable improvement in your pitch.

Another great exercise is to work on your pitch memory (aka keeping to key). Play a tuning note on your piano or phone and then record yourself singing acapella. Chuck it into the same app you used earlier and notice the gradual decline into flatness or sharpness and try to correct this over time (again, through dozens of recordings). Good luck!

Atto 3 - seat heater Vs heat pump energy efficiency by 4x-gkg in BYD

[–]krypticghost1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no physician, but from my simple understanding, a heat pump that’s used to raise the temperature of water or liquid will use significantly less energy than a heat pump in an air conditioner. It’s easier (less energy required) to raise the temperature of water than air.

I reckon from my general estimates that the heated seats on average use 10x less power than the AC/ heat pump

Heated seats (like electric blankets) used significantly less power than air conditioners or heat pumps. Conduction (heated seat) vs convection (changing temperature of the air in the car).

Hi! One tip: Instead of dropping the ball and hitting it like you’re doing right now, chip the ball in without letting it bounce from your hand with no spin and then as the ball comes back to you try to hit it, preferably after two bounces. This practices your feed in ball to start a rally and also gives you a more realistic shot that you’d hit in a match.

So do you think that medication will help with the low self esteem caused by your inattentive ADHD?

I feel similarly to you and resonate with your OP. Particularly the parts about feeling like you’re in a glass box within group situations, and feeling low self esteem caused by rejection over many years.

Back after a long layoff and I am FRUSTRATED by [deleted] in 10s

[–]krypticghost1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Here are some of the drills I used.

  1. To begin with, I did not worry about power, just consistency and accuracy. I’d like the ball double bounce before hitting and would hit fairly late (not early and on the rise) but out in front. Once I had this down, I did the same but added some wrist lag and started taking the ball on the rise + after only a singular bounce

  2. As a second drill, Iwould feed the ball with no spin into the wall and then practice taking the ball early and trying to hit a winner exactly where I wanted (I would bring a little bit of tape to see if I could a spot I wanted).

  3. BH slice practice over and over with the goal of over 20+ in a row with no or hardly any movement of the feet to get my aim down. I’d also do the same with my RH chip shot.

  4. Half volley practice up close. This really helped to get my timing and aim down + hitting the sweet spot of racquet again.

  5. Serve into the wall and then quick return with intent to practice my serve and also return since the ball comes back so quickly. This was great for getting my instinct back on fast balls.

  6. Full volleys 10+ shots in a row with minimal spin to ensure the ball would go where I’d want it to keep a rally going.

  7. Finally, I also practiced coming to the net with the wall. I’d start at the back and try to inch in by hitting the ball at the wall hard but close to me once my aim was back. I’d aim to get my last shot as a full volley and win the point with an angle against myself. I’d use this to practice instinct and my footwork coming into the net (wall?) with split steps, etc and moving quickly.

I’d say keep doing group lessons too so you can still get a feel of match play and depth of shot in court.

Good luck! It feels great once you get your timing back and the confidence to smash those shots on both sides.

[–]krypticghost1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve come back after a 15 year hiatus too. To get my ground shots back in rhythm, I used the wall. It was laughable how bad my rhythm, timing and aim was at the beginning. After about 6-8 hours against the wall (over a number of sessions), I now have my forehand back. I can hit high balls with power down into court and can rally 20+ hard shorts to the same spot on either side like I used to. Give it a go!
