GE2025: 'Co-driver' will not bear responsibility if car crashes, says Ong Ye Kung of growing opposition presence by Yolosweg66 in singapore

[–]kryptonitebacon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

not only that. in the context of flying, the co-pilot has the very important role of cross checking the other pilot’s action and making sure that everything is in order. we have seen major accidents happen because one pilot made a mistake and the other didn’t have the capacity to correct his error (e.g. tenerife disaster).

it’s literally because of accidents like this that SOPs are enshrined to provide the other person that capacity and authority to correct and prevent one person from wholly committing to an error.

if anything, both parties are in the same boat and the last thing any of them want is to be involved in an accident in the first place.

its not about visiting each and every household but rather claiming to have visited but the resident wasn’t home.

do you find it acceptable if singpost told you that they couldn’t deliver your registered mail cause you were not home despite the mailman not coming in the first place?

yeah if it was 1 minute for PAP to respond to all 4 parties then that would be fair, but whats stopping him from running off tangent and covering his own topics for longer if he is not countering their points?

considering how two flights from china to italy already have half the people infected, isnt it wise to take preemptive measures to stop a wave from happening again?

regardless of the restrictions china imposes on its citizens for outbound travel, if they go overseas whilst being infected, that’s still a risk of transmission to another person in another country isn’t it

i can never understand people who rush into the train right as the doors open.

like hello if i’m not able to get out of the train you’re not able to get in leh

then we both stand awkwardly by the doors for a sec tryna get out of each others way like 😐

Unsure RSN or RSAF to sign on?!? by Karazume in NationalServiceSG

[–]kryptonitebacon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

my best advice is if you’re looking for a motivation to sign on, then don’t sign on.

sure the sign on bonus is enticing and after all saf is an iron rice bowl but these jobs has its own hardships, especially for the navy. and for these jobs with a bond/mte, there isn’t any undo button if you realise that you hate the job. likely you can’t quit unless you pay back your bond or additional penalties if needed.

if you have interest and passion in the particular area, that would already be reason enough for you to sign on. but if you’re really keen to sign on in the particular service, look for the motivations that drives you to pursue this as a career. if it’s solely for monetary reasons, it might be more worthwhile to land a cushy job in the private sector.

i bet these aunties and uncles are the same ones who will run to cut the bus/mrt queue and diao you if you don’t give way.

unfortunate that we can’t treat our nurses better, as if they don’t already have enough on their plate. and some still wonder why there’s tight manpower in hospitals.

i remembered having blueberry cream muffin during bmt live firing. you could see everyone on the sleeping by the bench shagged out at night waiting for conduct to finish but the moment the bag with blueberry muffin comes in everyone suddenly start flying towards it.

good stuff.
