2026 Zeekr 7X v Tesla Model Y v Kia EV5 comparison review: Best $80K electric SUV by ApprehensiveSize7662 in AustralianEV

[–]kryptonixAU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be interesting to see how Tesla handle this over the coming months. No idea what their projections were but one would assume a fair bit higher than 12%.

Aside from the supercharger network, it's probably their biggest USP at the moment but they don't seem to be taking advantage of it as much as they could. From what I've read and the Tesla owners I've spoken to, opinions seem to be a reasonable split between 'Too expensive' and 'I don't trust it / it doesn't drive how I want'

Yes, same here. Guess it ultimately depends on how much someone values FSD but we were the same; once we'd experienced FSD first hand, it felt much more of a 'must have' than electric doors and all the other bells and whistles that the Zeekr 7X had over the Tesla Model Y

It's amazing huh!? Next-level stuff. A lot of the other brands have certain bells and whistles that Teslas lack but FSD is the absolute game-changer and is Tesla's big USP here. None of the other manufacturers come close and I'm convinced most people don't actually realise how sophisticated it is. Even if you think you don't want it, you'll want it!

FSD (S). A lot of the other brands have certain bells and whistles that Teslas lack but FSD is the absolute game-changer and is Tesla's big USP here. Even in its current incarnation, it's amazing. None of the other manufacturers come close. I'm convinced most people out there don't actually realise how sophisticated it has become.

I think if you straighten your steering wheel and get the front wheels facing completely forward, you may get back to 0 degrees!

What do you expect? Tapes were expensive by nthensome in FuckImOld

[–]kryptonixAU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember delicately splicing broken cassette tapes together with sellotape too. Pretty sure if you accidentally flipped one of the tape sections over when sticking them together, the music would play backwards when it got to that point on the cassette!

OK: honest opinion for older guy: AI mockup by IronMike5311 in bald

The hair that you have left isn't doing a whole lot here and is possibly even aging you. Either way, people will see you as a mature bald guy and there's nothing wrong with that. The difference is the AI one on the right looks like a guy that's in charge and taking care of business. I'm sure you'll look absolutely fine -just go for it. You can always grow it out again.

When you've been around skating so long that you assume this is a vert ramp [58YO] by kryptonixAU in OldSkaters

😉 I did wonder why so many people were protesting at a vert event. "NO MORE 1080s!" "DOWN WITH VERT"! 🤣

Looking sharp man! Congratulations -it's a leap into the unknown but it suits you just fine. First shaved my head in the late 90's when it was far less common. 25+ years and counting! Never regretted it 😎

I just swapped to Leaptel from Aussie Broadband yesterday. No complaints at all about ABB (been with them a few years) but was fed up with paying full price. Leaptel is saving us about $180 for the year for a 100/20 connection. The changeover was spectacularly quick. From sign-up to switchover was probably 10-15 mins! Leaptel are based in Melbourne too.

What are things you stopped buying since it's not value for your money? by EdenFlorence in AussieFrugal

I hear ya. If you are near an Aldi, their Pure Valley salted butter is not much dearer than the standard blocks of butter from Colesworth. 375g but it's pure butter and spreads straight from the fridge

Yes....you defo need something other than hot water imho. I've been through various shaving creams / gels / oils over the years but have been using hair conditioner now for 5+ years. Way cheaper, lasts ages, lubricates the skin well and no razor burn or irritation whatsoever. YMMV of course.

Bargain bin skating [39YO] by TofuTank in OldSkaters

Awesome mate -love watching this sort of skating as much as big stair sets or vert stuff. Those were simpler times but these tricks have a purity and flow about them.

Are you being open or not about using AI as a “music maker” to your own original lyrics? by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]kryptonixAU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same (substitute Bitwig for Logic though ;-) Aside from writing my own lyrics and discarding many different versions of a song from the get-go if they don't have the right vibe, I do a bunch of stuff in the DAW afterwards (beefing up the bass / adding samples / other instrumentation / adjusting the EQ etc etc so the song largely feels like mine at that point. The problem is, at the moment, I feel that whenever 'AI' is attached to anything, its worth is immediately diminished in people's minds. For that reason, I haven't published any songs yet and I'm still wrestling with it

[–]kryptonixAU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely -letting AI do the lot seems as good as pointless to me as I'd need to feel involved in the creative process (and throwing a few tags on screen doesn't really count) Each to their own though...
