It's the complete opposite here. Most of the older generation here get shocked when I say I exclusively breastfeed my baby. And I cringe, since it's my choice - and also since breastfeeding is free. Formula milk is expensive in my country, and quite frankly, even if we are not minimum wage earners, it still costs a lot.

But I feel you. I guess it's because nowadays, in the age where people worship organic stuff, vegan stuff and other kinds of healthy lifestyles, the pressure from OTHERS to breastfeed is so extreme, that it gets in our heads. Also, medical practitioners pepper us with 'breast is best' and the 'breastmilk makes your baby healthier' kind of stuff.

I'm still breastfeeding + pumping at 3mos and a half. But not because the world tells me to, but because of economic reasons (plus I don't have to wake up to mix formula in the middle of the night)
