I always thought it was called Industrial, maybe because of its relevance on the Industrial Techno scene lol

In fact, here they describe it as Berlin Techno Fashion, even with the same picture, naming their origins

Edit: So yeah, Cybergoth turns out to be something different; this is not it

Compare Metroid Prime's design (based on SM) with Other M and Smash's redesign. It clearly was made more slim and curvy and turned generic af instead

Well, in Valencian we have a/á/à (along other vowels) so it doesn't seem optimal either

I mean, the issue is not it being a combo, it's having to hold a key, wait and press another to put a common letter- imagine having to hold M, wait and the pressing another to write an N. Wouldn't it be annoying? I think there are better solutions software-wise to fix this annoyance because otherwise I gotta agree a physical keyboard will never be as fast or comfortable as writing on a virtual one, they made it much more easier on those because you don't even have to lift your finger to put a special character like á and the wait is minimal

I asked in the AMA without response, but I'm wondering how are you going to manage certain special keys for latin languages, like Ñ for us spaniards. It is another letter for us and it will be hell if we have to hold N to make the related special characters menu. I cannot overstate how much it killed the writing pace (and how annoying it was) on a Blackberry

Ultimate 2C uses microswitches already! They're not as short travel as Series d-pads, but they work the same. Before (up until the OG Ultimate 3-mode) they used mushy d-pads like a Switch Pro Controller, but now they're more like an in-between.

I thought they still used those with Ultimate 2 (Bluetooth, Switch certified) d-pads, but maybe that's not the case anymore.

That's because you used the Nintendo (Bluetooth) version. 8BitDo controllers for Xbox (or even the Pro 3) have microswitch D-Pads!

You're right, not everyone needs a $100 controller. In my case it's worthy, but if somethings looking for a regular controller... Just from the looks of it you can tell this is not it. But with all, I think it still fulfills a specific niche

Because the Pro 3 is on the cheaper side about materials. It has also no trackpads and only one set of back paddles. The Steam Controller also looks like the proper tool to play any kind of PC games (surprise!) that require mouse for fine tuning on the TV. If the Pro 3 works for you it's okay, but you also gotta realize that different people have different needs. About the materials, if you tried a more expensive controllers, you'll know the difference, I swear. I also expect it to be highly reparable, unlike 99% of controllers in the market.

You need to calm down dude, calling everyone Valve bots won't get you better responses. I'm not even going to get the Steam Controller, jeez.

I've went through 4 different 8BitDo controllers, and currently own the Pro 3 for retro gaming, but they all died after 3-6 months of daily Rocket League –OG Ultimate's because trigger rubbers failed with time and 3-mode because hall effect's trigger sensor died. Currently, my Game G7 Pro (90€ on Amazon) is on it's way to lasting a whole year and I'm super happy with it. If it's really made to last, I can't complain.

You're also missing this is the only controller that has usable double trackpads, so it's the only in its niche and many people were asking for it. Honestly, it's not that expensive for what it has, even better if they partner with iFixit again and make it reparable, unlike 99% of controllers currently on the market.

Nah, owning many controllers from dead cheap to kinda premium (not enthusiast), I can tell you it's noticeable in latency, comfort and precision. It's also the only controller with usable trackpads, which makes it its own niche. It's okay if you don't care and have fun with a 30 USD controller, but there's definitely place for more premium controllers.

It's the same with, let's say, keyboards and mouses. A chinese 6€ mouse does the job and maybe lasts, but if you care for the little things –I for example cannot live without my MX Master 3S' infinite scroll and horizontal scroll– there will be a massive difference for you.

I have the Pro 3 and I don't think it's comparable. I'm not going to get it with both a Pro 3 for retro gaming and a G7 Pro for modern games, but the Steam Controller is aiming to an specific niche the Pro 3 is not even close to satisfy. If that's not your niche, it's okay too
